  6. 0:26–0:33escape them. Their eyes shine with pleasure. The hair on their bodies stands on end. Their
  7. 0:33–0:41brows dance, and their hands whirl in ecstasy. The rapture in emotion of Shiva and Parvati's
  8. 0:41–0:49intoxicated union spread in every direction. The demon Rahu is moving across the sky from
  9. 0:49–0:57the sun toward the moon. Eager to swallow the moon is his meal and cause an eclipse.
  10. 0:57–1:04Moon faced Parvati, when he sees your face. So like the moon in radiance, will he not
  11. 1:04–1:11mistake it for the moon and try to swallow it. Hearing her lord's words, Parvati looks
  12. 1:11–1:18up to trace Rahu's path through the sky, and Shiva seizes the chance to kiss the venerable
  13. 1:18–1:24goddess passionately. May this praise of the three-eyed lord fulfill the wishes of the
  14. 1:24–1:27good and virtuous.
  15. 1:27–1:36reciting the Benedictory verse, the S-U-T-R-A-D-H-A-R-A, the leading actor, speaks.
  16. 1:36–1:39There is no point in saying more.
  17. 1:39–1:41Let me put it simply.
  18. 1:41–1:48The poetry of Jagadishwar Bhattacharya was like a wondrous fair-skinned woman, free,
  19. 1:48–1:54unrestrained, independent, and capable of harousing every emotion.
  20. 1:54–2:01It is adorned according to the rules of poetic ornament, with simile and the rest, through
  21. 2:01–2:04which true understanding arises.
  22. 2:04–2:09It is faultless by the severe standards of grammar and other disciplines.
  23. 2:09–2:16It overflows with laughter and every raza, and has the power to make men laugh.
  24. 2:16–2:22When scholars hear Jagadishwara's poetry, they laugh until their very teeth begin to
  25. 2:22–2:24fall out.
  26. 2:24–2:28His worst delights the learned soul and grants boundless pleasure.
  27. 2:28–2:34The poet Sri Jagadishwar, whose lineage was purified by the worship of Shiva and whose
  28. 2:34–2:43poetic power thereby shone forth, has commanded me, in keeping with the spring season, stage
  29. 2:43–2:50my fast the ocean of laughter and fill the hearts of connoisseurs of poetry with delight.
  30. 2:50–2:53His command must certainly be obeyed.
  31. 2:53–2:59For thus learned assembly, my own heart is restless and eager to flirt in spring with
  32. 2:59–3:03its enchanting voice, and to dance as,
  33. 3:03–3:10Well, come, then, let us dance, play music, and begin to sing,
  34. 3:10–3:14Ah, the beauty of spring is stirring my heart.
  35. 3:14–3:19For, whose sensitive heart does not search with joy in spring,
  36. 3:19–3:26When the wind, caressed by the Malia Woods, carries the fragrance of sandalwood,
  37. 3:26–3:32and the sweet humming of bees mingles with the melodious call of the cuckoo,
  38. 3:32–3:37and so, what does the honey-drunk bee not do in spring?
  39. 3:37–3:42It roams humming through the garden, flies up into the sky,
  40. 3:42–3:47then tumbles back from the air, its body dusted with pollen.
  41. 3:47–3:56wand is here in there. Casting restless glances, kissing the flowers and embracing its beloved.
  42. 3:56–4:03Lady, your pupils cast darting side long glances like clusters of lotuses hanging from a golden
  43. 4:03–4:11vessel. How can there be pleasure without a woman? Lady, your pupils cast darting glances
  44. 4:11–4:16like clusters of lotuses suspended from a golden vessel.
  45. 4:16–4:18Your body is like moonlight.
  46. 4:18–4:22You are like the arrow of the love god.
  47. 4:22–4:26Your body seems bitten by love as by a serpent.
  48. 4:26–4:28Your body is nectar itself.
  49. 4:28–4:36Beloved, you are clever, artful, keen, you are lovely and radiant.
  50. 4:36–4:40Come quickly, enter the naughty, the leading actress.
  51. 4:40–4:47My lord, I have come as you desired. Be gracious to me with your sweet words.
  52. 4:47–4:53Honoured lady, look, when the cuckoo's sweet song spreads everywhere. When bees in the
  53. 4:53–5:00bower's kiss flowers in rapture. When jasmine fragrance, touched by the wind from the Malia
  54. 5:00–5:08woods, fills every quarter, what discerning man. At spring's arrival, is not wounded
  55. 5:08–5:14by the arrows of the love-god? And again, in this springtime the Madhavika
  56. 5:14–5:22wine, laden with fresh blossoms, joyfully embraces the mango tree, through the unspoken murmur
  57. 5:22–5:29of that delighted embrace. And through the cuckoo's melodious song, the wine seems to
  58. 5:29–5:33instruct a newly married bride in the arts of love.
  59. 5:33–5:40She appears distracted, honored lady, why do you seem so preoccupied?
  60. 5:40–5:43My lord, have you not heard?
  61. 5:43–5:44Heard what?
  62. 5:44–5:51I am worried and distracted because we must speak of the government of a king named Anayasindo,
  63. 5:51–5:56who remains forever shut inside the women's quarters of his palace.
  64. 5:56–5:58My dear, is that true?
  65. 5:58–6:00Yes, it is true.
  66. 6:00–6:03A voice is heard from behind the curtain.
  67. 6:03–6:10King Panaya Sindhu, the ocean of disorder, is approaching swiftly, wishing to learn both
  68. 6:10–6:14the welfare and the misery of the city.
  69. 6:14–6:21Citizens, heap together great waterless earthen pots, and arrange for lines to be drawn across
  70. 6:21–6:26the royal road with needles made from drain husks.
  71. 6:26–6:32Speaking upward and listening, after hearing the proclamation, fear and suspicion have
  72. 6:32–6:38driven justice, good policy, and every decent person away.
  73. 6:38–6:45Who, after hearing the clever talk of rogues and swindlers, is not scheming to seize another
  74. 6:45–6:46man's wealth?
  75. 6:46–6:54In today's kingdom, who does not take another man's wife by force to satisfy his lust?
  76. 6:54–6:57This king is now advancing toward the city.
  77. 6:57–7:02My dear, it would be unwise for us to remain here.
  78. 7:02–7:07Come, let us both leave by this road and go somewhere else.
  79. 7:07–7:12The S-U-T-R-A-D-H-A-R-A in Naati exit.
  80. 7:12–7:14End of the prologue.
  81. 7:14–7:20Enter King Hanaya's Indechu, the Ocean of Disorder, with the servant.
  82. 7:20–7:28Ah! What misery! My body has been struck limp by the flower arrows of the love-god and scorched
  83. 7:28–7:37by the fire of passion. Day and night I devise ways to sleep with other men's wives. For
  84. 7:37–7:45many days. Therefore, I have been unable to attend to the welfare of my citizens.
  85. 7:45–7:54Spie. Interpreter of false appearances. Make a complete investigation of the condition of my kingdom.
  86. 7:54–8:08As my lord commands, the spy goes out, peers ahead, then returns and speaks loudly into the king's ear. My lord, I have penetrated the secret of the kingdom.
  87. 8:08–8:10Speak, speak.
  88. 8:10–8:17for lack of counsel. The administration of justice and the civil law. Legal procedure
  89. 8:17–8:20have long fallen into utter neglect and decay.
  90. 8:20–8:21How?
  91. 8:21–8:28My lord, for this reason, every man abandons other men's wives and embraces only his own.
  92. 8:28–8:35Even in the presence of qualified, learned Brahmins. Cobblers continue sewing shoes.
  93. 8:35–8:42Shameless people worship Brahmins even when members of the lowest caste stand safely nearby.
  94. 8:42–8:48Your majesty, rules are being violated in this scandalous fashion throughout your kingdom.
  95. 8:48–8:53And furthermore, women apply coal not to their thighs, but to their eyes.
  96. 8:53–8:56They do not decorate their lips with vermilion,
  97. 8:56–8:59but place vermilion in the parting of their hair.
  98. 8:59–9:01Where it shines red,
  99. 9:01–9:05They paint their feet with lac and wear anklets on their ankles.
  100. 9:05–9:11They do not wear jewel-studded necklaces over their eyes or anklets across both breasts.
  101. 9:11–9:15They wear necklaces around the waist rather than on their feet
  102. 9:15–9:20and a golden girdle around the waist rather than on the lips.
  103. 9:20–9:24With great distress I have seen such upside down,
  104. 9:24–9:28meaningless wearing of ornaments in every house of the kingdom.
  105. 9:28–9:32The king listens to the spy, then speaks aside.
  106. 9:32–9:37For a long time I have given no thought to affairs of state.
  107. 9:37–9:41That is why justice has collapsed so rapidly.
  108. 9:41–9:46Very well. I shall establish a system of punishment.
  109. 9:46–9:48Allowed.
  110. 9:48–9:54Listen. Summon my minister Kumativama, known as the Defender of Folly.
  111. 9:54–9:56As my lord commands.
  112. 9:56–10:06The spy exits and returns with the minister. Enter the defender of folly. He salutes the king with his left hand.
  113. 10:06–10:15My lord, without waiting for me to ask, state plainly whatever you desire, I shall carry it out.
  114. 10:15–10:25Minister, because there has been no suitable place to hold court, I have been unable for many days to discuss affairs of state.
  115. 10:25–10:31My lord, there is an exceedingly fine place right here for holding court.
  116. 10:31–10:33Say the word.
  117. 10:33–10:36The house of a procurus named Bandura.
  118. 10:36–10:38Drooping Volver.
  119. 10:38–10:40Defender of Folly.
  120. 10:40–10:46It seems you consulted the secret wish of my heart before proposing a courtroom.
  121. 10:46–10:50I have no taste for touching the Queen's drooping breasts.
  122. 10:50–10:51I.
  123. 10:51–10:522.
  124. 10:52–11:00Wish to embrace a courtesan. Can the love god ever dwell in a woman whose breasts hang down?
  125. 11:00–11:09And furthermore, at the sight of a desirable woman's high breasts, rising like inaccessible mountains,
  126. 11:09–11:15the love god tears a young man's heart open with his sharp arrows.
  127. 11:15–11:22In this battle of love his assault strikes the breasts and brings the fortress down, but the weak.
  128. 11:22–11:27Cowardly love God flees the moment the ramparts collapse.
  129. 11:27–11:34So I firmly believe. Shall we go? He sets off happily with the minister.
  130. 11:34–11:43My lord, the fragrance of camphor, sandalwood, musk, and many kinds of flowers is coming from this direction.
  131. 11:43–11:50I therefore suppose this must be Drooping Volver's house. My lord, please come this way.
  132. 11:50–11:58This is indeed Drooping Volver's house. By coming here I have gained the merit of a hundred pilgrimages.
  133. 11:58–12:02Where is Drooping Volver? The procurus.
  134. 12:02–12:08Entered Drooping Volver joyfully, accompanied by hundreds of gallants.
  135. 12:08–12:15Oh! Wonderful! Wonderful! Listen! My gallants!
  136. 12:15–12:32The greatest of rogues, King Ocean of Disorder, has arrived. Sing songs of spring to the beat of cymbals and drums, do not delay. All the GALLA and TS drawn near and sing joyfully.
  137. 12:32–12:41Filled with the sweet humming of honey drunk bees, graced by the songs of women with exquisite voices,
  138. 12:41–12:48crowded with youths whose hearts have been pierced by the love God, may spring make all this ay.
  139. 12:48–12:51Season of delight for you.
  140. 12:51–12:56They continue singing and playing the refrain again and again.
  141. 12:56–13:02Ah, Defender of Folly, drooping Volva wants something.
  142. 13:02–13:06You are the greatest sinner in the whole world.
  143. 13:06–13:13Therefore the Thunderbolt, sparing everyone else, will strike only your head.
  144. 13:13–13:18I do not know what will happen, but what should I do now?
  145. 13:18–13:22You have already displayed your miscellaneous.
  146. 13:22–13:29perform three fasts at this holy place, abstaining from every pleasure.
  147. 13:29–13:34There is no need to be afraid. I shall bow merely to deceive drooping
  148. 13:34–13:40vulva. Mother drooping vulva, I salute you, Mamrie
  149. 13:40–13:49Gunkalika, new moon streak, be gracious to you. This procurus has asked me for no favor.
  150. 13:49–13:58I have escaped a mortal sin. Where is New Moon Streak? Enter New Moon S-T-R-E-E-K, her wine-like
  151. 13:58–14:04body adorned with splendid ornaments. Mother, who is this?
  152. 14:04–14:12Daughter, do you not recognize him? King Ocean of Disorder has come to meet you.
  153. 14:12–14:19What act could be more meritorious than this? Her body is marvellous. Her face outshines
  154. 14:19–14:26the moon. Her restless eyes are darkened with coal. Like a vine she twists her brows to
  155. 14:26–14:34reveal every feeling. A mark of sandal paste mixed with musk adorns her forehead. Her
  156. 14:34–14:40lovely lips are red as bandooka blossoms at the mere report of such a beautiful vine
  157. 14:40–14:47like body. Even gods and sages might be bewitched. Who would not be enchanted by
  158. 14:47–14:56her nectar-soaked voice. Such beauty is rare in all three worlds. And furthermore, her body
  159. 14:56–15:04is a lovely lake. Her radiant youth is its water. Her face is a lotus rooted in the
  160. 15:04–15:12mud of musk. Her restless eyes are lotus stalks. Her hands move like circling bees.
  161. 15:12–15:20Vrbrests are two rival elephants. My mind refuses to leave this lake. Yet how can it refrain
  162. 15:20–15:24from furiously crushing those?
  163. 15:24–15:29Breast elephants? Such is new moonstreaks body.
  164. 15:29–15:33Drooping Volver. Why do you seem preoccupied?
  165. 15:33–15:39My lord. I am waiting for a salaried preceptor named Vishvapandha.
  166. 15:39–15:45The Universal Buffoon Who is coming to teach the arts of love?
  167. 15:45–15:50He will train new moon streak in amorous skill.
  168. 15:50–15:54The Universal Buffoon is also our family priest.
  169. 15:54–15:57A voice from behind the garden.
  170. 15:57–16:01He fasts by day but eats fish and meat at night.
  171. 16:01–16:05He wears matted hair like an ascetic.
  172. 16:05–16:08Yet burns to visit courtesans.
  173. 16:08–16:15Crown Jewel of Hippocrates, clad in ochre robes and carrying a handsome staff.
  174. 16:15–16:19The venerable Universal Buffoon approaches.
  175. 16:19–16:25Enter the Universal Buffoon with his disciple Kala Hanukra, the Sprout of Queral.
  176. 16:25–16:28Ah, what a beautiful spring day!
  177. 16:28–16:35And furthermore, Spring's sweet, fragrant intoxication plunges the lover's heart into drunkenness.
  178. 16:35–16:37It is the companion of the love God.
  179. 16:37–16:43Brother to all who hunger for fulfillment, a meeting place where delight, teasing, and
  180. 16:43–16:45bashful feeling gather together.
  181. 16:45–16:49Turning to his disciple, he declaims,
  182. 16:49–16:54The sound of bronze cymbals resounds across the whole sky, the soft yet unbroken beat
  183. 16:54–16:57of the maridhana spreads in every direction.
  184. 16:57–17:03The fragrance of camphor, agarwood, and sandal fills every quarter of the heavens.
  185. 17:03–17:08Son, go quickly and discover whose house is celebrating such a festival.
  186. 17:08–17:14Master, the celebration is taking place at the house of a procurus named Drooping Volva.
  187. 17:14–17:21Son, last year the procurus Drooping Volva invited us to dine. This seems an excellent opportunity.
  188. 17:21–17:27They move on and arrive at Drooping VULV's door.
  189. 17:27–17:34Preceptor, this seat is broken. Venerable sir, please sit upon it.
  190. 17:34–17:37Mother drooping vulva, I salute you.
  191. 17:37–17:40Son, may you cross the ocean of lust.
  192. 17:40–17:43Looking at new moon streak.
  193. 17:43–17:47If I can seize the great jar like breasts of this doe-eyed girl,
  194. 17:47–17:50then I shall indeed cross the ocean of lust.
  195. 17:50–17:53She smiles at the universal buffoon.
  196. 17:53–17:59So this is the universal buffoon, the great preceptor.
  197. 17:59–18:06He has already received the blessing of drooping vulva, worshipped by the entire community of
  198. 18:06–18:13courtesans, and now he has seated himself beside her to receive still more blessings.
  199. 18:13–18:16Master, I salute you.
  200. 18:16–18:18Listen, sprout of quarrel.
  201. 18:18–18:21Quickly pronounce a blessing upon the king.
  202. 18:21–18:24May menstrual blood flow from your eyes.
  203. 18:24–18:28And furthermore, may your enemies increase.
  204. 18:28–18:30Your fears increase.
  205. 18:30–18:32Your illnesses increase.
  206. 18:32–18:34Your debts and sins increase.
  207. 18:34–18:38May misfortune and stupidity flourish within you.
  208. 18:38–18:41May these seven kinds of prosperity be yours.
  209. 18:41–18:48After reciting the blessing, he scatters durwa grass and rice over the king's head.
  210. 18:48–18:52Master! Who is this wicked boy?
  211. 18:52–18:57Do you not know him? He is the fire that has reduced his entire lineage to ashes.
  212. 18:57–19:03The culmination of every dreadful sin. The accumulated store of all negligence.
  213. 19:03–19:10He is a hero in plundering wealth. The embodied form of stupidity. And cruelty itself.
  214. 19:10–19:13This is Kallahengkora, the Sprout of Quoral.
  215. 19:13–19:15He looks to a drooping vulva.
  216. 19:15–19:21Sun, sprout of coral, her hanging breasts are like rain-heavy clouds.
  217. 19:21–19:24Old age has made her a dwelling place for every disease.
  218. 19:24–19:26Like a field-laid waste.
  219. 19:26–19:29She has now surrendered all her treasures.
  220. 19:29–19:32Like a crane stripped of its leg ornaments.
  221. 19:32–19:34Like a sky gone dark without stars.
  222. 19:34–19:37She has lost her former splendor.
  223. 19:37–19:42Her great age makes people deny that she can still be an object of desire.
  224. 19:42–19:45Just as the moon's face disappears from sight.
  225. 19:45–19:50This is Drooping Volva. The sight of her now recalls an unwelcome cloud drifting overhead.
  226. 19:50–19:54Sun, go and salute the venerable Drooping Volva.
  227. 19:54–20:02Ah! Great Preceptor! What a wonder! Drooping Volva has a beard beneath her face. And furthermore,
  228. 20:02–20:08terrified by the devastation of old age, her Volva has shriveled up.
  229. 20:08–20:11This celibate student is thoroughly corrupt.
  230. 20:11–20:17He truly deserves the name Kalahankura, Sprout of Quarrel.
  231. 20:17–20:22Astonishing, how intense are this young woman's erotic gestures?
  232. 20:22–20:24Unrestrained and acting entirely at will.
  233. 20:24–20:26She looks and smiles.
  234. 20:26–20:30After a leisurely pause she stops and yawns.
  235. 20:30–20:31Making her whole body tremble.
  236. 20:31–20:34She prolongs the moment of delight.
  237. 20:34–20:39While the cloth covering her breast slips loose on every side, letting down and loosening
  238. 20:39–20:45her hair, embracing her companion, and demanding an answer before she has even asked a question,
  239. 20:45–20:48who is this marvelous?
  240. 20:48–20:52Restless-eyed woman who shines supreme in the play of love, and furthermore, her eyes
  241. 20:52–20:54dart like wagtails.
  242. 20:54–20:57Her face is lovely as a golden lotus.
  243. 20:57–21:01Her breasts are full, high, and always trembling.
  244. 21:01–21:04Her waist is slender and her hips are broad and heavy.
  245. 21:04–21:10If Lord Shiva, the Great Aesthetic, were to see New Moonstreak even once, would he too not
  246. 21:10–21:13be wounded by the Love God's arrow?
  247. 21:13–21:14Preceptor.
  248. 21:14–21:21My daughter New Moonstreak is now fully prepared to receive instruction in the arts of love.
  249. 21:21–21:25At present my school, too, is without a pupil.
  250. 21:25–21:26Mother.
  251. 21:26–21:30His nails and teeth are worn out like those of an old tiger.
  252. 21:30–21:33Age has reduced him to skin and bone.
  253. 21:33–21:38Yet day and night this shameless universal buffoon laughs at me and mocks me.
  254. 21:38–21:42Low courtesan. Thief of other people's sons and wealth.
  255. 21:42–21:47Do not look at my guru and imagine that he has fallen into bad company.
  256. 21:47–21:51Though his wife has constant intercourse with him,
  257. 21:51–21:57she still wanders in search of some great master of the arts of love so that her knowledge may
  258. 21:57–22:03Increase. Such is her wifely devotion that, dressed as a widow,
  259. 22:03–22:09she would follow the universal buffoon to the funeral pyre and pretend to burn herself.
  260. 22:09–22:13And you still dare call my guru old. More than that,
  261. 22:13–22:19my guru even now removes the cloth that covers his modesty and sleeps in his mother's lap.
  262. 22:19–22:22And you call such a guru shameless?
  263. 22:22–22:29Blessed is that Brahmin wife, blessed is this Brahmin disciple, and blessed indeed is the
  264. 22:29–22:30Preceptor.
  265. 22:30–22:34Daughter, do not speak so wickedly.
  266. 22:34–22:38You do not yet know the Preceptor properly.
  267. 22:38–22:44The universal buffoon may be old and the teacher of every scoundrel.
  268. 22:44–22:49Yet like the sun he can spread the light of love and make the lotus bloom.
  269. 22:49–22:51Ah, what a wonder.
  270. 22:51–22:56The white hair upon drooping Volva's head and her pale eyebrows bloom fully like Cauchy
  271. 22:56–22:58flowers.
  272. 22:58–23:01Age has weakened the body that once was love's dwelling.
  273. 23:01–23:03And her breasts have withered and sagged.
  274. 23:03–23:09Yet even after all these changes, the sound of her voice still awakens desire.
  275. 23:09–23:13If desire survives all this, where could it ever disappear?
  276. 23:13–23:17Drooping Volva, do you seem to be trembling a little from old age?
  277. 23:17–23:20It is true.
  278. 23:20–23:27the gallants who were once devoted to me, and recalling their virtues. I am now suffering
  279. 23:27–23:30from the fever of love.
  280. 23:30–23:34Your Majesty, drooping vulva has caught love fever.
  281. 23:34–23:42Then why do you not summon the great physician Vyadasvindu? Ocean of disease. Son of Atchurantaka.
  282. 23:42–23:44Death of patience.
  283. 23:44–23:49Do you not know the son of death of patience? Have you heard nothing of his virtues?
  284. 23:49–23:56Are you unaware of the courteous treatment notion of disease gives his patients?
  285. 23:56–23:59If there is stabbing pain in the stomach?
  286. 23:59–24:02Apply a red hot rod to the eyes?
  287. 24:02–24:04If the feet are swollen?
  288. 24:04–24:10Bore holes through the palms if there is a stone in the bladder?
  289. 24:10–24:13Operate inside the nose with a sharp knife?
  290. 24:13–24:16For gout and disorders of wind?
  291. 24:16–24:19Make the patient drink boiling oil?
  292. 24:19–24:27heart disease, place the patient's testicles between two rods and crush them hard.
  293. 24:27–24:33After receiving such delightful treatment, what patient would not proceed toward the
  294. 24:33–24:35cremation ground?
  295. 24:35–24:41And furthermore, make a coughing patient inhale the smoke of burning chaff.
  296. 24:41–24:46If too much wind fills the belly, force him to labor.
  297. 24:46–24:52Give him a purgative and make him fast if digestion is weak.
  298. 24:52–24:55Feed him minced meat with his meal.
  299. 24:55–25:01If he suffers from asthma, make him drink water without pause.
  300. 25:01–25:06If he has a disorder of bile, feed him dried ginger,
  301. 25:06–25:10picar leaves and pepper broth.
  302. 25:10–25:15If a bodily humour causes fever, bathe him in a tub.
  303. 25:15–25:20How can one adequately praise the virtues of Ocean of Disease?
  304. 25:20–25:22The Great Physician.
  305. 25:22–25:28It is impossible for a single mouth to recite the full catalogue of his merits.
  306. 25:28–25:31A voice from behind the garden.
  307. 25:31–25:39The Royal Physician who kills every patient, Ocean of Disease, is coming onto the stage.
  308. 25:39–25:45The flesh of his legs is badly rotten and covered with round boils.
  309. 25:45–25:52and again he uses the hem of his garment to dry flies from his oozing sores. The violence
  310. 25:52–25:57of his cough resounds on every side. Even through the heavens.
  311. 25:57–26:04Enter ocean of disease. He circles slowly and speaks with immense pride.
  312. 26:04–26:11As a physician, I contain every disease in perfect form. My ill-fame in disgrace are
  313. 26:11–26:19my glory. Once I have treated him, even the immortal Markundey cannot remain alive for
  314. 26:19–26:27long. And furthermore, a patient needs neither medicine nor treatment. One glimpse of me
  315. 26:27–26:34is enough to kill him. Great Preceptor, I salute you.
  316. 26:34–26:39Sprout of Quarrel, bless the royal physician. May you live forever with your enemies. May
  317. 26:39–26:41May your life be short.
  318. 26:41–26:45May you not survive even two more auspicious moments.
  319. 26:45–26:48May a sharp thorn lodge in your heart.
  320. 26:48–26:50May a serpent bite your neck.
  321. 26:50–26:55And for crimes committed by others may the king punish you by beheading.
  322. 26:55–26:57May you always worry about food.
  323. 26:57–27:00And may your house burn forever.
  324. 27:00–27:03Wicked boy, are you mocking me?
  325. 27:03–27:08Ocean of disease, is your dead father, death of patience, keeping well?
  326. 27:08–27:11How could he be well without seeing you?
  327. 27:11–27:16Who in this entire world could see her breasts?
  328. 27:16–27:22Like golden jars, without a heart overflowing with desire?
  329. 27:22–27:26Great physician, I wish to consult you on a medical matter.
  330. 27:26–27:32Is a physician to be consulted only after the family has gathered rice and sesame for
  331. 27:32–27:34the funeral?
  332. 27:34–27:40offering, selected a fine axe for preparing the pyre.
  333. 27:40–27:45And every relative has abandoned all attachment to the patient.
  334. 27:45–27:47You are a great physician indeed.
  335. 27:47–27:53Great physician, drooping vulva is suffering from phlegm after excessive indulgence in love.
  336. 27:53–27:55You must prescribe her treatment.
  337. 27:55–28:02Why was the preparation of scalding oil not poured into her anus at once?
  338. 28:02–28:06Do not delay the procedure any longer.
  339. 28:06–28:10This physician has no sense at all.
  340. 28:10–28:15My lord, by great good fortune I have found the finest physician.
  341. 28:15–28:19Ah, one must attend to a thousand things.
  342. 28:19–28:21I have forgotten the question.
  343. 28:21–28:25Sun sprout of coral, remind me what we ask the physician.
  344. 28:25–28:27Great physician.
  345. 28:27–28:32New moon streak has developed an itch from applying too much vermilion and musk.
  346. 28:32–28:36Please tell us what should be done to cure this ailment.
  347. 28:36–28:39The disciple is just like his guru.
  348. 28:39–28:47A dog belongs on an ash heap, makes an ointment of water hyacinth with finely powdered scorpions
  349. 28:47–28:54and thorns, and smear it over new moon streaks entire body.
  350. 28:54–28:57The itch will disappear at once.
  351. 28:57–28:59An excellent medicine.
  352. 28:59–29:00Yes.
  353. 29:00–29:06Now I remember. Great Physician. Drooping Volva has developed a headache from the pleasures
  354. 29:06–29:10of love battle. What should be done for that?
  355. 29:10–29:17Great Physician. I have long known of your learning. Please prescribe a medicine for
  356. 29:17–29:18my phlegm.
  357. 29:18–29:27He. He. Why did you not say that you had phlegm? Long ago. A certain ruling king developed
  358. 29:27–29:36flame because of an excess disorder of wind. At that time my father, a Turantika, death
  359. 29:36–29:46of patients, who was authoritative in the Ayurvedic works of Charaka, Sushruta, Vagbhata, and
  360. 29:46–29:53Nagarjuna, cured the king's flame by cleansing his eyes with black salt and fastening a
  361. 29:53–30:03hundred leeches upon them. What is the treatment for my illness? If a minor remedy will do,
  362. 30:03–30:11wipe or scribe a major one. Your phlegm will be destroyed if you please wasps, leeches
  363. 30:11–30:19and scorpions inside your nose and eyes. You truly are the son of death of patience.
  364. 30:19–30:23A commotion is heard behind the curtain.
  365. 30:23–30:28Gatekeeper, find out at once who has come to see me.
  366. 30:28–30:31Bring the visitor here quickly.
  367. 30:31–30:39As my lord commands, Great King, Raktakalola, wave of blood, a barber, is dragging in a
  368. 30:39–30:42bleeding citizen by his clothes.
  369. 30:42–30:45Tell him to enter and present himself.
  370. 30:45–30:52King, I present before you this barber named Riktakalola. Enter wave of blood, gripping
  371. 30:52–30:59the clothes of a bleeding citizen. He circles the stage and speaks in Sanskrit.
  372. 30:59–31:08The moment I take razor in hand and prepare to scrape. A man abandons every hope of life.
  373. 31:08–31:15Whenever I set to work as a barber. My heart grows eager to see streams of blood flowing
  374. 31:15–31:24from the human body. And furthermore, when a man's hands, feet, and neck have been bound
  375. 31:24–31:31and he screams in dreadful pain, the moment I begin to cut his nails he gives up every
  376. 31:31–31:35hope even of being born again.
  377. 31:35–31:38Looking around the assembly, he offers a mirror.
  378. 31:38–31:43Drooping Volva. You should take the mirror first.
  379. 31:43–31:48Great King! I have contracted the eye disease called cataract.
  380. 31:48–31:53I cannot see the reflection of my face in the mirror at all.
  381. 31:53–31:57Let your majesty take it first.
  382. 31:57–32:06Ocean of disease. Even in your presence this procurous drooping volva has developed the eye disease called cataract.
  383. 32:06–32:12Why not hold an iron rod heated in the fire firmly and steadily?
  384. 32:12–32:15And press it against the pupil?
  385. 32:15–32:22When no eye remains, how can the disease called cataract survive?
  386. 32:22–32:28Should not the physician first test the remedy by applying the red hot rod to his own eyes?
  387. 32:28–32:33This cortisan mocks me. There is no point remaining here.
  388. 32:33–32:40Oh, old age has come upon me. My hair has turned white. My teeth are rotting and falling out.
  389. 32:40–32:46My body has grown old and weak. Cataracts cloud my eyes. My ears can no longer hear a sound.
  390. 32:46–32:52And the flesh of my body hangs loose. All this is the work of age. Yet even in this condition
  391. 32:52–32:58my restless heart is forever eager to embrace a fair courtesan. The sport of God seems very
  392. 32:58–33:00strange to me.
  393. 33:00–33:05Barba, if you have something to say about this matter, say it now.
  394. 33:05–33:12Great King, I have a dispute with this man who is writhing in pain.
  395. 33:12–33:18Minister, consider how justice should be given between these two men.
  396. 33:18–33:22Barba, tell me, who first saw this blood?
  397. 33:22–33:24I saw it first.
  398. 33:24–33:29What do you mean, you first saw the blood flowing from my body?
  399. 33:29–33:33Baba, how did you come to see it first?
  400. 33:33–33:38This admirable minister is as distinguished as the king.
  401. 33:38–33:45Great king, I was holding this man's finger in order to cut his nail.
  402. 33:45–33:49At that very moment he covered his eye with the finger.
  403. 33:49–33:53My instrument therefore entered his eye and broke.
  404. 33:53–33:56That is why he began to bleed.
  405. 33:56–33:59He has spoken correctly.
  406. 33:59–34:06Citizen, you must pay the Baba the price of His broken nail cutting instrument.
  407. 34:06–34:10The minister is every bit as distinguished as the king.
  408. 34:10–34:17Great King, Ibrahman named Mityarnava, Ocean of Falsehood, wishes to see you.
  409. 34:17–34:19Let him come in.
  410. 34:19–34:23Enter. Enter ocean of falsehood.
  411. 34:23–34:32Great Preceptor. A relative by marriage is staying with me. A Brahmin has died in his house.
  412. 34:32–34:41This Brahmin had studied all four Vedas, observed the rules of celibacy with exceptional strictness,
  413. 34:41–34:47bathed once a year, and suffered many wounds from the kick of a fly's foot.
  414. 34:47–34:57Grieved by the Brahmin's death, I went in search of a learned authority on scripture and found you in a procurus's house.
  415. 34:57–35:02Please tell me what penance we should perform to atone for this sin.
  416. 35:02–35:09If the Brahmin is truly dead, his wife or son should drink extremely hot water mixed with cow dung.
  417. 35:09–35:12In that way they too will attain the road to heaven.
  418. 35:12–35:16He did not die from the kick of a fly's foot.
  419. 35:16–35:21The townspeople beat him to death for committing adultery with a washerwoman.
  420. 35:21–35:24Then everyone has been freed from the stain of sin.
  421. 35:24–35:29Purify the washerwoman, who is tainted with the sin of killing a Brahmin.
  422. 35:29–35:32By ritual, and bring her home again.
  423. 35:32–35:34Your learning is admirable.
  424. 35:34–35:37Looking at new moon streak.
  425. 35:37–35:44Who is the man who went to the bank of the Ganges and worshiped Lord Shiva with lotus flowers?
  426. 35:44–35:49who is the man who worshipped with total devotion the love God,
  427. 35:49–35:52enemy of the demon Shambhara,
  428. 35:52–35:59and who is the man who knowingly and selflessly gives up his life where the Ganges meets the sea.
  429. 35:59–36:02In the same way I ask,
  430. 36:02–36:06who is the fortunate man whose lap will be adorned,
  431. 36:06–36:09even for a few moments,
  432. 36:09–36:11by new moon streak.
  433. 36:11–36:13In Shantris of the world,
  434. 36:13–36:20I came here to embrace a courtesan, but many wicked men have already gathered.
  435. 36:20–36:27When leeches cling to the bodies of other leeches, there is no point remaining here.
  436. 36:27–36:34Why has the magistrate Saduhim Saka, tormenter of the virtuous, not yet arrived?
  437. 36:34–36:38Enter, tormenter of the virtuous, in a cheerful mood.
  438. 36:38–36:42An armed thief has thrown the whole city into turmoil.
  439. 36:42–36:48That is why I have come in the greatest delight to visit a courtesan.
  440. 36:48–36:54Minister, this thief has spread terrible fear. What is to be done?
  441. 36:54–37:02Great King! First the army must be properly equipped, then I must be protected.
  442. 37:02–37:07After that the Queen and finally the Royal Palace.
  443. 37:07–37:09Speaking in distress.
  444. 37:09–37:14From inside the palace one may catch a glimpse of the moon.
  445. 37:14–37:21When I am with the queen, I lie awake all night for fear that the crumbling walls will fall.
  446. 37:21–37:25A snake must always keep its poison ready.
  447. 37:25–37:31For the frog croaks throughout the night and lives in fear that the snake will seize it.
  448. 37:31–37:37Therefore, the palace must be protected from the thief before anything else.
  449. 37:37–37:41Ah! I wish to know how the queen is now.
  450. 37:41–37:47Supreme Minister, tell me something more about the queen.
  451. 37:47–37:51For whose sake the king appears so sorrowful and anxious?
  452. 37:51–37:57Would a man not need a thousand mouths, like the serpent Adeshecha,
  453. 37:57–38:05to describe the queen's virtues. Even so, tell me something. I long to hear of her
  454. 38:05–38:13qualities. Since you insist, I shall describe them briefly. The queen's face is
  455. 38:13–38:20dark as a moonless night. She is fair as lamp-black. Her beautiful eyes resemble
  456. 38:20–38:30cats. Her waist is like an enormous water jar, and her high breasts hang below her navel.
  457. 38:30–38:35These virtues make the queen the enchantress of the entire world.
  458. 38:35–38:43Friend, the king is foremost among learned men, but you are the crown jewel of all poets.
  459. 38:43–38:51Great King! If fear of the thief has spread so widely, why not summon the commander Rana
  460. 38:51–38:54Jambuka, the Jackal of War?
  461. 38:54–39:00Enter Jackal of War. He circles the stage and speaks proudly.
  462. 39:00–39:04Great King, hear the account of my heroic exploit.
  463. 39:04–39:05Tell us!
  464. 39:05–39:10Great King, today I saw a bee drinking nectar from a red flower.
  465. 39:10–39:11And then?
  466. 39:11–39:16Once I put on my armor, took up my weapons, and with four soldiers bound the bee in a
  467. 39:16–39:20thick leather rope and dragged it toward me.
  468. 39:20–39:21And then?
  469. 39:21–39:26Then with my sharp sword I split the bee open like a hollow leather pouch.
  470. 39:26–39:29No doubt remains about your valour.
  471. 39:29–39:33You possess the strength of ten thousand elephants.
  472. 39:33–39:38Commander, the hour has come to fight wicked men.
  473. 39:38–39:40How eager are you for battle?
  474. 39:40–39:45intercourse, if I mistake the red lac on my wife's feet for blood.
  475. 39:45–39:50I faint and fall, even when the whole earth is covered by the darkness of the new moon
  476. 39:50–39:51night.
  477. 39:51–39:53I lose consciousness.
  478. 39:53–39:58Tell me, then, what will become of me if I see soldiers drenched in blood upon the
  479. 39:58–40:00battlefield?
  480. 40:00–40:01She laughs loudly.
  481. 40:01–40:07Oh, wicked courtesan, you mock me, why do you not fight me this instant?
  482. 40:07–40:15King and astrologer named Mahayatrika, prophet of the final journey, is at the door.
  483. 40:15–40:16Let him enter.
  484. 40:16–40:20The gatekeeper speaks and exits.
  485. 40:20–40:26Entering, opening his almanac, turning southward, and reading.
  486. 40:26–40:31May the sun occupy your birth sign and destroy your position.
  487. 40:31–40:37May Jupiter remain in your horoscope and increase your fears.
  488. 40:37–40:43may sat and dwell in the 8th house and multiply your pain and disease.
  489. 40:43–40:51May Mars also occupy the 8th house. Kill your entire family.
  490. 40:51–40:57And strike you with weapons. Then may mighty Rahu.
  491. 40:57–41:03Together with the sun in your 12th house. Destroy your wealth.
  492. 41:03–41:11Would these powerful planets so placed? Even the otherwise favourable influence of the moon,
  493. 41:11–41:20Venus, and Mercury will scarcely bear fruit. You have heard the blessing. At this moment
  494. 41:20–41:28the Great King wishes to go to war. Calculate an auspicious hour for his great journey.
  495. 41:28–41:36The great king's great journey will take place at dawn on a Saturday, on the full moon day
  496. 41:36–41:42of the month of Shrivana, under the sign of Scorpio.
  497. 41:42–41:44Then he will certainly die.
  498. 41:44–41:51He will carry away with him the demon of his subjects misfortune.
  499. 41:51–41:55Looking east and west, the orb of the sun is sinking.
  500. 41:55–42:00While the orb of the moon swells as it rises, the reddened eyes of the angry love god imitate
  501. 42:00–42:02the two glowing orbs.
  502. 42:02–42:06Because the people have been kept apart from their wives.
  503. 42:06–42:09Looking lovingly at new moon street.
  504. 42:09–42:14Sprout of quarrel, my son, evening has come, go to new moon streak and whisper in her
  505. 42:14–42:18ear that I wish to spend the evening with her in private.
  506. 42:18–42:19Meditation
  507. 42:19–42:22This guru of mine is thoroughly wicked.
  508. 42:22–42:25He wants to make love with the girl.
  509. 42:25–42:32And furthermore, every day I have diligently served my revered guru, and what have I gained?
  510. 42:32–42:36Every day I have worshipped the sun, and what benefit has it brought?
  511. 42:36–42:42I have studied the Vedas with severe discipline, and what profit is there in that?
  512. 42:42–42:45Even if I attain heaven, what use will it be?
  513. 42:45–42:51All of it is fruitless unless I can passionately embrace new moon streaks high.
  514. 42:51–42:55Pitcher-like breasts and quench the fire of love with sweat.
  515. 42:55–42:57There is no point delaying.
  516. 42:57–43:01Why should I not clasp her tightly and kiss her face?
  517. 43:01–43:02New moon streak.
  518. 43:02–43:04I have something to tell you.
  519. 43:04–43:05Say it.
  520. 43:05–43:07If it is proper.
  521. 43:07–43:09In Sunscrew.
  522. 43:09–43:10Youth is fleeting.
  523. 43:10–43:13It lasts only 10 or 15 days.
  524. 43:13–43:14High.
  525. 43:14–43:19firm breasts droop and hang with age and can never rise again.
  526. 43:19–43:21Moon faced new moon streak.
  527. 43:21–43:24Life offers no certainty.
  528. 43:24–43:27No one knows how long it will last knowing all this.
  529. 43:27–43:33When a young woman rejects a youth who longs for love, her firm breasts pierce his heart
  530. 43:33–43:34like thorns.
  531. 43:34–43:37She smiles faintly.
  532. 43:37–43:38New moon streak.
  533. 43:38–43:40I must tell you a secret.
  534. 43:40–43:41Please listen.
  535. 43:41–43:46Even the gods cannot have drunk the nectar of New Moonstreak's lips.
  536. 43:46–43:47No wonder.
  537. 43:47–43:53Then, that the gods were joyfully content with the moon-like nectar that fell from Rahu's
  538. 43:53–43:54mouth.
  539. 43:54–43:55Wicked boy!
  540. 43:55–43:59You must perform penance for embracing and kissing New Moonstreak.
  541. 43:59–44:01Whom I desired from the beginning.
  542. 44:01–44:03You must perform the penance.
  543. 44:03–44:08Because you desire a woman whom your disciple has already embraced.
  544. 44:08–44:12That limb of yours whose name is also used for an elephant's trunk, your hand, must be
  545. 44:12–44:18cut off, because you touched the young woman desired by your guru.
  546. 44:18–44:25Since you call new moon streak, already kissed by your disciple, the woman you desire, the
  547. 44:25–44:30limb with which you would adorn a beautiful woman's waist deserves to be cut off.
  548. 44:30–44:35Those teeth of yours, hidden behind your lips, must be torn out, because you wounded new
  549. 44:35–44:38moon streak's lips with them.
  550. 44:38–44:44or linger. The word formed by placing a vowel before the root, liji, deserves to be torn
  551. 44:44–44:50out. Because with that organ you would torment the young woman whom your disciple has already
  552. 44:50–44:57kissed. Thus the two dance in quarrel while everyone present laughs. A bard speaks from
  553. 44:57–45:04behind the curtain. The eyes of a bold and experienced woman, tightly embraced, dart
  554. 45:04–45:11with anticipation of the supreme delight of lovemaking. The troubled eyes of an innocent,
  555. 45:11–45:17inexperienced woman reveal her fear of defeat in love's battle. A woman whose husband has
  556. 45:17–45:23gone on a journey watches the fierce sun sink behind the mountain with tearful eyes and
  557. 45:23–45:29loneliness in her heart. These women share no blood. Yet all gaze upon the setting
  558. 45:29–45:36sun in pain. And furthermore, as the sun god sets in the west, the moon's rays now scorch
  559. 45:36–45:42the lotuses and make them wither. With night approaching, great black bees abandon the
  560. 45:42–45:48flowers. While the setting sun deprives them of light, they are like women tormented by
  561. 45:48–45:52the thought of husbands departing on journeys.
  562. 45:52–45:54A second bod sings
  563. 45:54–45:56Where has the sun's orb gone?
  564. 45:56–45:58Visible only a moment ago
  565. 45:58–46:02Where have the calls of the Chakravaka birds gone?
  566. 46:02–46:04Audible only a moment ago
  567. 46:04–46:07Where have the male and female swans gone?
  568. 46:07–46:12Who only a moment ago cast off shame and joined in love play?
  569. 46:12–46:14The moon has risen
  570. 46:14–46:16Reddened by the rays of the setting sun
  571. 46:16–46:22Like the angry face of a woman who has discovered that her husband is attached to another.
  572. 46:22–46:24Hearing the bees sing,
  573. 46:24–46:29clusters of lotuses awaken and seem to laugh as they display their joy.
  574. 46:29–46:33And furthermore, at the sight of the rising moon's disk,
  575. 46:33–46:35the heart wonders,
  576. 46:35–46:40is this truly a beautiful bowl from which the dwellers in heaven drink nectar?
  577. 46:40–46:42Is it a ball with which ratty?
  578. 46:42–46:44Wife of the love god?
  579. 46:44–46:45Plays?
  580. 46:45–46:53Or is it a heap of foam from the Ganges? Is it King Love's Parasol? Or is it the vast treasury of fame?
  581. 46:53–46:59Evening has come. Why do you not go and complete your daily observances?
  582. 46:59–47:11What good will come from completing them? I am worried by the trouble caused by the thief. Still, I shall go. But wait a moment.
  583. 47:11–47:15Look at the hostility between the preceptor and his disciple.
  584. 47:15–47:19He takes up his staff and runs forward angrily.
  585. 47:19–47:23He shrieks and shakes his whole body.
  586. 47:23–47:27The two sees new moon S.T.R.E.A.K.'s clothing.
  587. 47:27–47:31Dancing was their struggle in shouting.
  588. 47:31–47:32She is mine.
  589. 47:32–47:34She is mine.
  590. 47:34–47:35Single quote.
  591. 47:35–47:38My lord, preceptor,
  592. 47:38–47:41Please end this quarrel for today.
  593. 47:41–47:43Night has fallen.
  594. 47:43–47:51Tomorrow morning a preceptor named Madananda Mishra, Mishra blinded by lust, will come to
  595. 47:51–47:58instruct New Moon Streak. Both of you must obey whatever decision he gives.
  596. 47:58–47:59So be it.
  597. 47:59–48:00All exit.
  598. 48:00–48:07exit. Thus ends Act One of the Fast the Ocean of Laughter. By the judgment of the assembly
  599. 48:07–48:11in the council.
  600. 48:11–48:16The following morning, enter the universal buffoon in Sprout of Queral.
  601. 48:16–48:21Ah, in the east the sun's rays appear red as vermillion in the parting of a woman's
  602. 48:21–48:27hair. After a husband has spent the entire night in love play with his mistress. He
  603. 48:27–48:32He stands before his wife at sunrise and she glares at him with blood red.
  604. 48:32–48:34Furious eyes.
  605. 48:34–48:39Just so, the red lotuses of the pond look redder still in the crimson morning light.
  606. 48:39–48:43Because the sun spent the whole night in some other region of the earth.
  607. 48:43–48:48And furthermore, the morning breeze gives the heart great joy, for it carries the pleasing
  608. 48:48–48:51fragrance of day-blooming lotuses.
  609. 48:51–48:54It also bears the sweet scent of musk and vermilion.
  610. 48:54–49:00Washed into streaks of red and black by the sweat of women exhausted from love play.
  611. 49:00–49:03Where are drooping vulva and new moon streak?
  612. 49:03–49:06Enter drooping vulva and new moon streak.
  613. 49:06–49:09Looking at new moon streak.
  614. 49:09–49:13If new moon streak, whose face is like the autumn moon?
  615. 49:13–49:15Casts one restless glance at me.
  616. 49:15–49:18Who will notice the blue lotus adorning her ear?
  617. 49:18–49:23And furthermore, even Lord Shiva would find it difficult to resist new moon streaks'
  618. 49:23–49:27sleepy eyes and their darting. Side long glances.
  619. 49:27–49:33Drooping vulva, has Madananda Mishra, Mishra blinded by lust, still not arrived.
  620. 49:33–49:36A voice from behind the curtain.
  621. 49:36–49:42His sacred thread has been readened by the fragrant cosmetics of courtesans. His eyes
  622. 49:42–49:47have grown red from drinking cannabis liquor. His whole forehead is smeared with sandal
  623. 49:47–49:54paste. And he has completely abandoned every act of worship and religious observance. The
  624. 49:54–49:58embodied form of such virtues is approaching in person.
  625. 49:58–50:05Madananda Mishra, blinded by lust, is seen entering with his disciple Kulala, the wild
  626. 50:05–50:06pork.
  627. 50:06–50:14Look! Hearing bees hum around the mango trees and the sweet sounds of cranes and cuckoos.
  628. 50:14–50:20This spring resounds with the hot size of beautiful women separated from their lovers.
  629. 50:20–50:26And furthermore, touched by cool droplets splashed from the hands of women playing in the waters
  630. 50:26–50:27of the Cauvery.
  631. 50:27–50:34Filled with the fragrance of pale sandalwood and awakening the excitement of love, the
  632. 50:34–50:39southern wind gently stirs clusters of new mango shoots.
  633. 50:39–50:44At the touch of fully opened wine flowers, it seems a little frightened.
  634. 50:44–50:49as though it had come into contact with a menstruating woman.
  635. 50:49–50:53How shall I pass this spring without a quarter-zan?
  636. 50:53–50:57Wild cock, my son, look, it is already noon.
  637. 50:57–51:01The sun god heats the earth with his rays.
  638. 51:01–51:05All the birds have taken shelter in wine-covered boughs.
  639. 51:05–51:13Swans have settled motionless beneath radiant, fully-opened lotuses, weary, sorrowing travelers,
  640. 51:13–51:19hearts burning with the fierce pain of long separation from their wives. Sit beneath the
  641. 51:19–51:24shade of leafless trees. Sighing without pause as they write,
  642. 51:24–51:31Good sir. A procurus named Drooping Vulva lives in this city. It is said that she receives
  643. 51:31–51:35guests exceptionally well. We should dine at her house.
  644. 51:35–51:41Is she of high birth? What doubt can there be? Even a man of the lowest caste drinks
  645. 51:41–51:50water in her house. Then come, son. The two turn toward drooping VULV's house. Before
  646. 51:50–51:56they can enter. Blinded by lust, please sit upon this beautiful seat.
  647. 51:56–52:03Is it not astonishing that New Moon Streak, jewel among women, stands before me? Between
  648. 52:03–52:11folds of red clothing, New Moon Streak's breast gleams in the curve of a rising half-moon.
  649. 52:11–52:17Like a bright fragment of moon emerging over the eastern mountain, she arches her brows
  650. 52:17–52:23and casts a lustful, restless glance, creating the illusion of a bee tugging at the petal
  651. 52:23–52:26of a great ketaki flower.
  652. 52:26–52:33What man could see such a sight without agitation, without being compelled to look at her?
  653. 52:33–52:38And furthermore, new moon-streaks body is a splendid forest, her high-breasts rise
  654. 52:38–52:41like inaccessible mountains.
  655. 52:41–52:44The region of her navel lies deep below.
  656. 52:44–52:50Her trembling, quivering arms possess the beauty of a swarm of lovely bees.
  657. 52:50–52:55Seeing all these signs, the heart grows a little afraid that the love-god himself has
  658. 52:55–53:02become a hunter and is striking with the sharp arrows of her restless glances.
  659. 53:02–53:07My dear like heart, tell me, where will you find refuge?
  660. 53:07–53:12How can I deceive sprout of queral in the universal buffoon?
  661. 53:12–53:18Very well, I shall pretend to be a follower of the Vavishnava sect and trick them.
  662. 53:18–53:22Tum, you must forever repeat the name of Vishnu.
  663. 53:22–53:28Eyes, the Lord pervades the entire universe, you must see in that manner.
  664. 53:28–53:32Ears, you must forever hear the glory of God.
  665. 53:32–53:38heart, you must hold with absolute firmness that Lord Narayana alone is the refuge of
  666. 53:38–53:46all. Ah, by uttering God's name I have committed a mortal sin. What must I do to atone for
  667. 53:46–53:53it? Blinded by lust is a rogue, trying to deceive us in the name of the Vaishnava sect.
  668. 53:53–53:58Very well, I shall show him something in return. I forever meditate in my heart upon
  669. 53:58–54:06Lord Krishna crown jewel of the three worlds whose form is like blue sapphire who like a bee forever
  670. 54:06–54:11hovers about the lotus face of the goddess Lakshmi whose dark color is like the smoke that draws
  671. 54:11–54:20tears from the eyes of demons wives wild cock my son now expound the doctrine of the Vavishnava sect
  672. 54:20–54:29As my master commands. In the age of Kali, human life is naturally short. On top of that,
  673. 54:29–54:36wicked men force others to fast and practice various bodily austerities. Thereby destroying the body.
  674. 54:36–54:43The wise understand the futility of physical torment and prefer religion and mode of worship that
  675. 54:43–54:49includes a life of sensual enjoyment and the pleasures found at a courtesan's door.
  676. 54:49–54:53Sprout of quarrel, my son, expound the vichy of a doctrine.
  677. 54:53–55:04If for fear of the contempt of fools, a man observes a fast despite terrible suffering and endures inward agony from fear of the death,
  678. 55:04–55:09that may come in the night. Nevertheless, in order to remain alive,
  679. 55:09–55:18He must first rise and eat in the morning. Thus the true danger is that life itself may end through remaining hungry and fasting.
  680. 55:18–55:20If death is the result,
  681. 55:20–55:25how can complete liberation be attained? And furthermore,
  682. 55:25–55:31the face of any priest who declares that painful fasting earns merit should be smeared with ashes.
  683. 55:31–55:38Supreme liberation is possible only when the incomparable Lord Shiva is pleased by offerings of meat.
  684. 55:38–55:40fish and women.
  685. 55:40–55:43This preceptor is extremely clever.
  686. 55:43–55:45He cannot be deceived.
  687. 55:45–55:49It is useless to bait an old cat with sour rice.
  688. 55:49–55:50Very well.
  689. 55:50–55:53I shall trick him by displaying humility.
  690. 55:53–55:55Master, I salute you.
  691. 55:55–56:00Friend, may you live long, but when a woman such as Drooping Volva,
  692. 56:00–56:03who has served multitudes, is present,
  693. 56:03–56:07it is not proper for a man like you to salute me first.
  694. 56:07–56:12Oh, I must took you for drooping valvour and saluted you.
  695. 56:12–56:18He truly is blinded by lust that is why he mistook a man for drooping valvour, the Procuraus.
  696. 56:18–56:22Drooping valvour, I offer you my respectful salutation.
  697. 56:22–56:27Daughter, raise him up and pronounce a blessing upon him.
  698. 56:27–56:34May Gowri, the consort and other half of Lord Shiva, be gracious to you.
  699. 56:34–56:39Having said this, New Moon Streak lowers her eyes in embarrassment.
  700. 56:39–56:40Ah!
  701. 56:40–56:44The sight of New Moon Streak leaves me astonished.
  702. 56:44–56:50The two feet of doe-eyed New Moon Streak can barely support the weight of her immense hips.
  703. 56:50–56:55How can her incomparable waist bear the weight of her two high breasts?
  704. 56:55–56:59Which resemble the temples of an elephant?
  705. 56:59–57:01Excellent Brahmin!
  706. 57:01–57:08I inform you that today a fire sacrifice to the love God is being held in my house.
  707. 57:08–57:12Please act as priest and bring it to completion.
  708. 57:12–57:18The hollow between doe-eyed new moon-streaks thighs will serve as the sacrificial altar.
  709. 57:18–57:21Her wall were between those thighs.
  710. 57:21–57:25The place desired by men of pleasure will be the fire pit.
  711. 57:25–57:29Her breasts will serve as the sacrificial fruit.
  712. 57:29–57:33The fiercely burning fire of desire will be the ritual flame.
  713. 57:33–57:35I shall be the priest.
  714. 57:35–57:39And my seamen the offering poured into the sacrifice.
  715. 57:39–57:43While my penance will be the sacrificial ladle.
  716. 57:43–57:45The SPHYA.
  717. 57:45–57:50With all these materials ready to grant immediate satisfaction.
  718. 57:50–57:54What man would refuse to perform such an erotic Vignihotra?
  719. 57:54–57:55Drooping vulva.
  720. 57:55–57:58Old age has weakened your body.
  721. 57:58–58:04you unable to carry out your duty. You should therefore appoint your daughter to gather the
  722. 58:04–58:07materials for the sacrifice.
  723. 58:07–58:11Daughter, follow the venerable Brahmin's wishes.
  724. 58:11–58:15New moon streak goes inside the house.
  725. 58:15–58:18First settle the quarrel between my guru and me.
  726. 58:18–58:24Son, wait a little, until the sacrifice has been completed.
  727. 58:24–58:32Blinded by lust enters the house, has vigorous intercourse with new moon streak, and speaks
  728. 58:32–58:33in delight.
  729. 58:33–58:36Her breasts are crushed by the embrace.
  730. 58:36–58:42Her face is wet with sweat from excessive exertion, closing her eyes after a kiss.
  731. 58:42–58:45She utters sounds of pleasure.
  732. 58:45–58:49Her brows are lovely and her side long glances restless.
  733. 58:49–58:56The delight of such a courtazan, praised through the smooth speech of deceivers, can be enjoyed
  734. 58:56–59:02only by a man who has accumulated every kind of merit for a hundred years.
  735. 59:02–59:07Looking at new moon S.T.R.E.K., aside,
  736. 59:07–59:12The coal has been washed from new moon streaks to beautiful ice, and the redness from her
  737. 59:12–59:18lips, the knot of hair upon her head has loosened, and the sandal paste has been white from
  738. 59:18–59:25her body by the sweat of love play. Her thighs no longer tremble, her hands have gone slack,
  739. 59:25–59:29and her chest heaves again and again. From all these signs it is certain that she is
  740. 59:29–59:36coming this way after intercourse." Good sirs, one man has completed the sacrifice.
  741. 59:36–59:41Closing his left eye, he gestures for the disciple to stop.
  742. 59:41–59:48What will you gain by stopping me? One man's accumulated merit cannot purify another, can it?
  743. 59:48–59:55Son, wait a moment. Great-blinded by lust, I now understand how your sacrifice was completed.
  744. 59:55–1:00:03Even so, you must judge the dispute between the two of us. Arrange matters so that I may marry New Moonstreak.
  745. 1:00:03–1:00:05The two of us shall marry her.
  746. 1:00:05–1:00:08What harm is there in that?
  747. 1:00:08–1:00:14Consider, in this world Kunti, daughter of King Boja, and Madri were married to six lords,
  748. 1:00:14–1:00:21Dharma, Vayu, Indra, the two Ashvan twins, and Pandu, yet they were still called faithful
  749. 1:00:21–1:00:22wives.
  750. 1:00:22–1:00:26Draupadi, too, was wife to all five Pandavas.
  751. 1:00:26–1:00:33Yudhishthira, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula, and Sahadeva, it is therefore clear that a woman
  752. 1:00:33–1:00:36commits no sin by marrying several men.
  753. 1:00:36–1:00:43These two wicked men have joined forces. I should now make an alliance with Sprout of Quarrel.
  754. 1:00:43–1:00:50Friend. Look. These two men have become allies and will both marry New Moonstreak. Why should
  755. 1:00:50–1:00:53the two of us not marry drooping vulva?
  756. 1:00:53–1:00:59Friend. I do not think you have spoken wisely. We have no experience of intercourse with
  757. 1:00:59–1:01:07an old woman. Besides, it is painful that these two old men will marry New Moonstreak
  758. 1:01:07–1:01:13in Shantris of the Three Worlds. A Jasmine garland does not grace a monkey's wrist. An ignorant
  759. 1:01:13–1:01:20rustic knows nothing of Musk. And a pearl necklace does not adorn an old woman's breasts.
  760. 1:01:20–1:01:27Friend, how many days do you think these two old men will live? After both have died,
  761. 1:01:27–1:01:30The two of us shall marry New Moon Streak.
  762. 1:01:30–1:01:33That is true, but I am still unhappy.
  763. 1:01:33–1:01:39When the two old men go out each day to beg, New Moon Streak will remain at home in their
  764. 1:01:39–1:01:40absence.
  765. 1:01:40–1:01:43Drooping vulva has cataracts.
  766. 1:01:43–1:01:47At such times we shall be able to accomplish what we desire.
  767. 1:01:47–1:01:51Friend, let it be as you have said.
  768. 1:01:51–1:01:56These two swindlers have joined together, and now they are coming to know each other
  769. 1:01:56–1:02:03very well. Learned Gurus, what dispute lies between you? What is the problem? He wishes
  770. 1:02:03–1:02:09to marry New Moonstreak, but I desire her as well. Sprout of Queral, what do you say
  771. 1:02:09–1:02:15on this matter? Although I have already embraced and kissed New Moonstreak, he still wants
  772. 1:02:15–1:02:22to marry her. I know the fundamental principles of justice. There is no pleasure in enjoying
  773. 1:02:22–1:02:28what is shriveled and wasted. Your Guru desired new moon streak first. So in some measure
  774. 1:02:28–1:02:34she belongs to Him. But after our agreement she belongs wholly to Me.
  775. 1:02:34–1:02:40Son, you are a bright groom of twelve years. Drooping vulva, who is more than a hundred
  776. 1:02:40–1:02:47years old and counts for lovers by her wrinkles. Is a bright worthy of you.
  777. 1:02:47–1:02:54in speaking in Sanskrit. You have made this agreement. And I am your disciple. Therefore
  778. 1:02:54–1:03:01new moon streak belongs to me as well. Sprout of Queral, my son, accept the decision and
  779. 1:03:01–1:03:07consent to marry drooping vulva together with my disciple Wildcock.
  780. 1:03:07–1:03:15As the learned Brahmin commands, Ah! The creator seems pleased with me. In my old
  781. 1:03:15–1:03:21age I am receiving two young husbands. What will this boy do with his little penis in that
  782. 1:03:21–1:03:26opening through which a child has already been born? The wedding hour is approaching. Why
  783. 1:03:26–1:03:33not summon Mata Nindaka, the Great Slanderer, who lives in the disputed southern country?
  784. 1:03:33–1:03:39Enter the Great Slanderer. He looks at everyone and speaks with enormous pride.
  785. 1:03:39–1:03:45Is there any Brahmin in this entire universe who can equal me in religious debate or genealogy?
  786. 1:03:45–1:03:52I composed all four Vedas. Master, the Vedas issued from Lord Brahma's mouth. How could
  787. 1:03:52–1:03:59you have composed them? Ah! You believe that full Brahma composed the Vedas. I went to heaven
  788. 1:03:59–1:04:05to investigate Brahma's genealogy. Listen. When Lord Shankara washed Brahma's feet
  789. 1:04:05–1:04:11with the water of the Ganges imprisoned in his matted hair, the enraged Brahma struck
  790. 1:04:11–1:04:18Lord Shankara with his hand. Terrified. Lord Shankara bowed to Brahma. But Brahma gave him
  791. 1:04:18–1:04:26no blessing of long life. When Brihaspati, preceptor of the gods, came before him. Brahma
  792. 1:04:26–1:04:33did not even look at him. For he regarded Brihaspati as a sinner who accepted gifts from the thirty-three
  793. 1:04:33–1:04:38gods. Stop this flood of words. Perform the two weddings now.
  794. 1:04:38–1:04:41I accept nothing as charity or gift.
  795. 1:04:41–1:04:45What harm is there in accepting a gift from a courtesan?
  796. 1:04:45–1:04:47You are right.
  797. 1:04:47–1:04:51Until now I did not know that this procurus belonged to a noble family.
  798. 1:04:51–1:04:55My lord, which woman is to marry which man?
  799. 1:04:55–1:04:58Do I knew Moonstreak will marry the two of us?
  800. 1:04:58–1:05:04The worthy perceptors, while drooping vulva, whose eyes are clouded by cataracts, will
  801. 1:05:04–1:05:06marry these two disciples.
  802. 1:05:06–1:05:08Ah, what a wonder.
  803. 1:05:08–1:05:14After being struck by the sharp arrows of her eyes, is there any man who could abandon the
  804. 1:05:14–1:05:17desire to live with doe-eyed new moon-streak?
  805. 1:05:17–1:05:23And furthermore, new moon-streaks brilliant white eyes with their restless pupils at the
  806. 1:05:23–1:05:27center can pierce even a steadfast heart.
  807. 1:05:27–1:05:31They are poison as white as the milk produced by the churning of the ocean.
  808. 1:05:31–1:05:35Even Lord Shiva has not the strength to endure them.
  809. 1:05:35–1:05:41But if I do not clasp New Moonstreak tightly at this very moment, I may not remain alive."
  810. 1:05:41–1:05:42Aloud.
  811. 1:05:42–1:05:49Despite the white radiance of her moon-like face, the covered breasts of doe-eyed New Moonstreak
  812. 1:05:49–1:05:50have not blossomed.
  813. 1:05:50–1:05:56Yet beneath the brows of that moon-faced beauty, her lotus-like eyes are opening.
  814. 1:05:56–1:06:00Their repeated blossoming fills my heart with doubt.
  815. 1:06:00–1:06:02And furthermore, are.
  816. 1:06:02–1:06:04These men are fools.
  817. 1:06:04–1:06:10new moon streaks lips and ectaphit to drink. The region above her thighs is a place fit
  818. 1:06:10–1:06:17to dwell. Her dear like eyes are my only friends. Her lovely words are equal to the finest chanting
  819. 1:06:17–1:06:24of mantras. Her lotus-like body is worthy of meditation. If there exists a hermitage equal
  820. 1:06:24–1:06:32to her body, why do learned sages go into forests to practice austerities? Listen. Listen.
  821. 1:06:32–1:06:35Receptors, why not summon Mahayatrika?
  822. 1:06:35–1:06:37Prophet of the final journey.
  823. 1:06:37–1:06:39The astrologer.
  824. 1:06:39–1:06:41To determine an auspicious time for the wedding?
  825. 1:06:41–1:06:44Enter the prophet of the final journey.
  826. 1:06:44–1:06:48He opens the almanac and speaks.
  827. 1:06:48–1:06:52Priest, what must be calculated?
  828. 1:06:52–1:06:55Determine an auspicious time for the wedding.
  829. 1:06:55–1:06:58Whatever the auspicious hour,
  830. 1:06:58–1:07:00whatever the day,
  831. 1:07:00–1:07:07Whatever the constellation, whatever is to be done should be done quickly.
  832. 1:07:07–1:07:10This astrologer is competent. Listen.
  833. 1:07:10–1:07:16Astrologer, does this auspicious hour contain any conjunction promising widowhood?
  834. 1:07:16–1:07:23Has the earth become so empty of men for this woman that she must remain a widow forever?
  835. 1:07:23–1:07:27Buffoons and everyone present. Take bilva leaves,
  836. 1:07:27–1:07:33Wood apple leaves, and garlands in your hands, and approach your respective future wives.
  837. 1:07:33–1:07:38Such adornments are suitable for men at the point of death.
  838. 1:07:38–1:07:42The men take the hands of their future wives and sit,
  839. 1:07:42–1:07:46drooping vulva between the two disciples,
  840. 1:07:46–1:07:50and new moon streak between the two preceptors.
  841. 1:07:50–1:07:55In deep distress, new moon streak speaks aside.
  842. 1:07:55–1:07:59I have sat in utter solitude worshipping the Goddess Parvati
  843. 1:07:59–1:08:00every day
  844. 1:08:00–1:08:03with complete devotion of heart.
  845. 1:08:03–1:08:05I have prayed to the Love God.
  846. 1:08:05–1:08:09Today my prayers and devotion to Parvati,
  847. 1:08:09–1:08:10the Love God
  848. 1:08:10–1:08:13and all the other deities are bearing fruit.
  849. 1:08:13–1:08:20Marriage to these two old Brahmins is as dreadful as a sentence of death and will drive me still.
  850. 1:08:20–1:08:22Nearer to the grave.
  851. 1:08:22–1:08:29Giver of gifts. Bring the Madhupaka, the mixture of honey, milk, curd, sugar, and ghee.
  852. 1:08:29–1:08:35My Lord, there is no honey. There is only milk and water. Bring it.
  853. 1:08:35–1:08:40She brings milk and water. Looking at each bridegroom.
  854. 1:08:40–1:08:46You are men scorched by the fire of the cremation ground and abandoned by friends and relatives.
  855. 1:08:46–1:08:51You should bathe. Drink this milk. And rejoice after drinking it.
  856. 1:08:51–1:08:55taking Durva grass and rice in his hands.
  857. 1:08:55–1:09:00In this world, the death of every creature is inevitable, and life is like a dream.
  858. 1:09:00–1:09:03Think in this way about life and death.
  859. 1:09:03–1:09:06And do not grieve over any of these events.
  860. 1:09:06–1:09:09You who place your trust in the Great Sleep,
  861. 1:09:09–1:09:12you who lie upon the Great Bed of the Funeral Pire,
  862. 1:09:12–1:09:15may you all dwell in the cremation ground.
  863. 1:09:15–1:09:20He scatters Durva grass and rice over everyone's head.
  864. 1:09:20–1:09:28For those who marry, it is entirely fitting to sleep upon a funeral pyre in the cremation ground.
  865. 1:09:28–1:09:34Sprout of quarrel, first pay me the fee for accepting a hundred-year-old maiden.
  866. 1:09:34–1:09:37He offers a sweet mead with bhang.
  867. 1:09:37–1:09:38May you prosper!
  868. 1:09:38–1:09:39Om!
  869. 1:09:39–1:09:42I bow to the goddess Gayatri.
  870. 1:09:42–1:09:46This sweet produces supreme delight in matters of love.
  871. 1:09:46–1:09:49Make speech poor like a shower of nectar.
  872. 1:09:49–1:09:54and fills the eyes with desire. Victory to the sweet maid of Bang.
  873. 1:09:54–1:09:59The Great Slanderer comes from a distinguished family.
  874. 1:09:59–1:10:03Excellent Brahmins, please pay the fee for giving the bride away.
  875. 1:10:03–1:10:05Wait for four years.
  876. 1:10:05–1:10:09Then for four years she will remain a courtesan held in pledge.
  877. 1:10:09–1:10:15He takes new moon streak by the hand and dances joyfully with her.
  878. 1:10:15–1:10:21Great slanderer, this does not seem consistent with your character.
  879. 1:10:21–1:10:25Joyfully, I have now freed new Moonstreak.
  880. 1:10:25–1:10:27Who brings delight to all humankind?
  881. 1:10:27–1:10:31From the clutches of this gang of wicked men.
  882. 1:10:31–1:10:33I have obtained her for myself.
  883. 1:10:33–1:10:35My heart is therefore filled with joy.
  884. 1:10:35–1:10:40I long to return to the Chamber of Pleasure and begin a mighty battle of love with her.
  885. 1:10:40–1:10:44Marking her body with the many weapons of enjoyment.
  886. 1:10:44–1:10:48The FOSS entitled the Ocean of Laughter ends.

Lips tighten, breath rises and falls unsteadyly. Sudden sighs of delight escape them. Their eyes shine with pleasure. The hair on their bodies stands on end. Their brows dance, and their hands whirl in ecstasy. The rapture in emotion of Shiva and Parvati's intoxicated union spread in every direction. The demon Rahu is moving across the sky from the sun toward the moon. Eager to swallow the moon is his meal and cause an eclipse. Moon faced Parvati, when he sees your face. So like the moon in radiance, will he not mistake it for the moon and try to swallow it. Hearing her lord's words, Parvati looks up to trace Rahu's path through the sky, and Shiva seizes the chance to kiss the venerable goddess passionately. May this praise of the three-eyed lord fulfill the wishes of the good and virtuous. reciting the Benedictory verse, the S-U-T-R-A-D-H-A-R-A, the leading actor, speaks. There is no point in saying more. Let me put it simply. The poetry of Jagadishwar Bhattacharya was like a wondrous fair-skinned woman, free, unrestrained, independent, and capable of harousing every emotion. It is adorned according to the rules of poetic ornament, with simile and the rest, through which true understanding arises. It is faultless by the severe standards of grammar and other disciplines. It overflows with laughter and every raza, and has the power to make men laugh. When scholars hear Jagadishwara's poetry, they laugh until their very teeth begin to fall out. His worst delights the learned soul and grants boundless pleasure. The poet Sri Jagadishwar, whose lineage was purified by the worship of Shiva and whose poetic power thereby shone forth, has commanded me, in keeping with the spring season, stage my fast the ocean of laughter and fill the hearts of connoisseurs of poetry with delight. His command must certainly be obeyed. For thus learned assembly, my own heart is restless and eager to flirt in spring with its enchanting voice, and to dance as, Well, come, then, let us dance, play music, and begin to sing, Ah, the beauty of spring is stirring my heart. For, whose sensitive heart does not search with joy in spring, When the wind, caressed by the Malia Woods, carries the fragrance of sandalwood, and the sweet humming of bees mingles with the melodious call of the cuckoo, and so, what does the honey-drunk bee not do in spring? It roams humming through the garden, flies up into the sky, then tumbles back from the air, its body dusted with pollen. wand is here in there. Casting restless glances, kissing the flowers and embracing its beloved. Lady, your pupils cast darting side long glances like clusters of lotuses hanging from a golden vessel. How can there be pleasure without a woman? Lady, your pupils cast darting glances like clusters of lotuses suspended from a golden vessel. Your body is like moonlight. You are like the arrow of the love god. Your body seems bitten by love as by a serpent. Your body is nectar itself. Beloved, you are clever, artful, keen, you are lovely and radiant. Come quickly, enter the naughty, the leading actress. My lord, I have come as you desired. Be gracious to me with your sweet words. Honoured lady, look, when the cuckoo's sweet song spreads everywhere. When bees in the bower's kiss flowers in rapture. When jasmine fragrance, touched by the wind from the Malia woods, fills every quarter, what discerning man. At spring's arrival, is not wounded by the arrows of the love-god? And again, in this springtime the Madhavika wine, laden with fresh blossoms, joyfully embraces the mango tree, through the unspoken murmur of that delighted embrace. And through the cuckoo's melodious song, the wine seems to instruct a newly married bride in the arts of love. She appears distracted, honored lady, why do you seem so preoccupied? My lord, have you not heard? Heard what? I am worried and distracted because we must speak of the government of a king named Anayasindo, who remains forever shut inside the women's quarters of his palace. My dear, is that true? Yes, it is true. A voice is heard from behind the curtain. King Panaya Sindhu, the ocean of disorder, is approaching swiftly, wishing to learn both the welfare and the misery of the city. Citizens, heap together great waterless earthen pots, and arrange for lines to be drawn across the royal road with needles made from drain husks. Speaking upward and listening, after hearing the proclamation, fear and suspicion have driven justice, good policy, and every decent person away. Who, after hearing the clever talk of rogues and swindlers, is not scheming to seize another man's wealth? In today's kingdom, who does not take another man's wife by force to satisfy his lust? This king is now advancing toward the city. My dear, it would be unwise for us to remain here. Come, let us both leave by this road and go somewhere else. The S-U-T-R-A-D-H-A-R-A in Naati exit. End of the prologue. Enter King Hanaya's Indechu, the Ocean of Disorder, with the servant. Ah! What misery! My body has been struck limp by the flower arrows of the love-god and scorched by the fire of passion. Day and night I devise ways to sleep with other men's wives. For many days. Therefore, I have been unable to attend to the welfare of my citizens. Spie. Interpreter of false appearances. Make a complete investigation of the condition of my kingdom. As my lord commands, the spy goes out, peers ahead, then returns and speaks loudly into the king's ear. My lord, I have penetrated the secret of the kingdom. Speak, speak. for lack of counsel. The administration of justice and the civil law. Legal procedure have long fallen into utter neglect and decay. How? My lord, for this reason, every man abandons other men's wives and embraces only his own. Even in the presence of qualified, learned Brahmins. Cobblers continue sewing shoes. Shameless people worship Brahmins even when members of the lowest caste stand safely nearby. Your majesty, rules are being violated in this scandalous fashion throughout your kingdom. And furthermore, women apply coal not to their thighs, but to their eyes. They do not decorate their lips with vermilion, but place vermilion in the parting of their hair. Where it shines red, They paint their feet with lac and wear anklets on their ankles. They do not wear jewel-studded necklaces over their eyes or anklets across both breasts. They wear necklaces around the waist rather than on their feet and a golden girdle around the waist rather than on the lips. With great distress I have seen such upside down, meaningless wearing of ornaments in every house of the kingdom. The king listens to the spy, then speaks aside. For a long time I have given no thought to affairs of state. That is why justice has collapsed so rapidly. Very well. I shall establish a system of punishment. Allowed. Listen. Summon my minister Kumativama, known as the Defender of Folly. As my lord commands. The spy exits and returns with the minister. Enter the defender of folly. He salutes the king with his left hand. My lord, without waiting for me to ask, state plainly whatever you desire, I shall carry it out. Minister, because there has been no suitable place to hold court, I have been unable for many days to discuss affairs of state. My lord, there is an exceedingly fine place right here for holding court. Say the word. The house of a procurus named Bandura. Drooping Volver. Defender of Folly. It seems you consulted the secret wish of my heart before proposing a courtroom. I have no taste for touching the Queen's drooping breasts. I. 2. Wish to embrace a courtesan. Can the love god ever dwell in a woman whose breasts hang down? And furthermore, at the sight of a desirable woman's high breasts, rising like inaccessible mountains, the love god tears a young man's heart open with his sharp arrows. In this battle of love his assault strikes the breasts and brings the fortress down, but the weak. Cowardly love God flees the moment the ramparts collapse. So I firmly believe. Shall we go? He sets off happily with the minister. My lord, the fragrance of camphor, sandalwood, musk, and many kinds of flowers is coming from this direction. I therefore suppose this must be Drooping Volver's house. My lord, please come this way. This is indeed Drooping Volver's house. By coming here I have gained the merit of a hundred pilgrimages. Where is Drooping Volver? The procurus. Entered Drooping Volver joyfully, accompanied by hundreds of gallants. Oh! Wonderful! Wonderful! Listen! My gallants! The greatest of rogues, King Ocean of Disorder, has arrived. Sing songs of spring to the beat of cymbals and drums, do not delay. All the GALLA and TS drawn near and sing joyfully. Filled with the sweet humming of honey drunk bees, graced by the songs of women with exquisite voices, crowded with youths whose hearts have been pierced by the love God, may spring make all this ay. Season of delight for you. They continue singing and playing the refrain again and again. Ah, Defender of Folly, drooping Volva wants something. You are the greatest sinner in the whole world. Therefore the Thunderbolt, sparing everyone else, will strike only your head. I do not know what will happen, but what should I do now? You have already displayed your miscellaneous. perform three fasts at this holy place, abstaining from every pleasure. There is no need to be afraid. I shall bow merely to deceive drooping vulva. Mother drooping vulva, I salute you, Mamrie Gunkalika, new moon streak, be gracious to you. This procurus has asked me for no favor. I have escaped a mortal sin. Where is New Moon Streak? Enter New Moon S-T-R-E-E-K, her wine-like body adorned with splendid ornaments. Mother, who is this? Daughter, do you not recognize him? King Ocean of Disorder has come to meet you. What act could be more meritorious than this? Her body is marvellous. Her face outshines the moon. Her restless eyes are darkened with coal. Like a vine she twists her brows to reveal every feeling. A mark of sandal paste mixed with musk adorns her forehead. Her lovely lips are red as bandooka blossoms at the mere report of such a beautiful vine like body. Even gods and sages might be bewitched. Who would not be enchanted by her nectar-soaked voice. Such beauty is rare in all three worlds. And furthermore, her body is a lovely lake. Her radiant youth is its water. Her face is a lotus rooted in the mud of musk. Her restless eyes are lotus stalks. Her hands move like circling bees. Vrbrests are two rival elephants. My mind refuses to leave this lake. Yet how can it refrain from furiously crushing those? Breast elephants? Such is new moonstreaks body. Drooping Volver. Why do you seem preoccupied? My lord. I am waiting for a salaried preceptor named Vishvapandha. The Universal Buffoon Who is coming to teach the arts of love? He will train new moon streak in amorous skill. The Universal Buffoon is also our family priest. A voice from behind the garden. He fasts by day but eats fish and meat at night. He wears matted hair like an ascetic. Yet burns to visit courtesans. Crown Jewel of Hippocrates, clad in ochre robes and carrying a handsome staff. The venerable Universal Buffoon approaches. Enter the Universal Buffoon with his disciple Kala Hanukra, the Sprout of Queral. Ah, what a beautiful spring day! And furthermore, Spring's sweet, fragrant intoxication plunges the lover's heart into drunkenness. It is the companion of the love God. Brother to all who hunger for fulfillment, a meeting place where delight, teasing, and bashful feeling gather together. Turning to his disciple, he declaims, The sound of bronze cymbals resounds across the whole sky, the soft yet unbroken beat of the maridhana spreads in every direction. The fragrance of camphor, agarwood, and sandal fills every quarter of the heavens. Son, go quickly and discover whose house is celebrating such a festival. Master, the celebration is taking place at the house of a procurus named Drooping Volva. Son, last year the procurus Drooping Volva invited us to dine. This seems an excellent opportunity. They move on and arrive at Drooping VULV's door. Preceptor, this seat is broken. Venerable sir, please sit upon it. Mother drooping vulva, I salute you. Son, may you cross the ocean of lust. Looking at new moon streak. If I can seize the great jar like breasts of this doe-eyed girl, then I shall indeed cross the ocean of lust. She smiles at the universal buffoon. So this is the universal buffoon, the great preceptor. He has already received the blessing of drooping vulva, worshipped by the entire community of courtesans, and now he has seated himself beside her to receive still more blessings. Master, I salute you. Listen, sprout of quarrel. Quickly pronounce a blessing upon the king. May menstrual blood flow from your eyes. And furthermore, may your enemies increase. Your fears increase. Your illnesses increase. Your debts and sins increase. May misfortune and stupidity flourish within you. May these seven kinds of prosperity be yours. After reciting the blessing, he scatters durwa grass and rice over the king's head. Master! Who is this wicked boy? Do you not know him? He is the fire that has reduced his entire lineage to ashes. The culmination of every dreadful sin. The accumulated store of all negligence. He is a hero in plundering wealth. The embodied form of stupidity. And cruelty itself. This is Kallahengkora, the Sprout of Quoral. He looks to a drooping vulva. Sun, sprout of coral, her hanging breasts are like rain-heavy clouds. Old age has made her a dwelling place for every disease. Like a field-laid waste. She has now surrendered all her treasures. Like a crane stripped of its leg ornaments. Like a sky gone dark without stars. She has lost her former splendor. Her great age makes people deny that she can still be an object of desire. Just as the moon's face disappears from sight. This is Drooping Volva. The sight of her now recalls an unwelcome cloud drifting overhead. Sun, go and salute the venerable Drooping Volva. Ah! Great Preceptor! What a wonder! Drooping Volva has a beard beneath her face. And furthermore, terrified by the devastation of old age, her Volva has shriveled up. This celibate student is thoroughly corrupt. He truly deserves the name Kalahankura, Sprout of Quarrel. Astonishing, how intense are this young woman's erotic gestures? Unrestrained and acting entirely at will. She looks and smiles. After a leisurely pause she stops and yawns. Making her whole body tremble. She prolongs the moment of delight. While the cloth covering her breast slips loose on every side, letting down and loosening her hair, embracing her companion, and demanding an answer before she has even asked a question, who is this marvelous? Restless-eyed woman who shines supreme in the play of love, and furthermore, her eyes dart like wagtails. Her face is lovely as a golden lotus. Her breasts are full, high, and always trembling. Her waist is slender and her hips are broad and heavy. If Lord Shiva, the Great Aesthetic, were to see New Moonstreak even once, would he too not be wounded by the Love God's arrow? Preceptor. My daughter New Moonstreak is now fully prepared to receive instruction in the arts of love. At present my school, too, is without a pupil. Mother. His nails and teeth are worn out like those of an old tiger. Age has reduced him to skin and bone. Yet day and night this shameless universal buffoon laughs at me and mocks me. Low courtesan. Thief of other people's sons and wealth. Do not look at my guru and imagine that he has fallen into bad company. Though his wife has constant intercourse with him, she still wanders in search of some great master of the arts of love so that her knowledge may Increase. Such is her wifely devotion that, dressed as a widow, she would follow the universal buffoon to the funeral pyre and pretend to burn herself. And you still dare call my guru old. More than that, my guru even now removes the cloth that covers his modesty and sleeps in his mother's lap. And you call such a guru shameless? Blessed is that Brahmin wife, blessed is this Brahmin disciple, and blessed indeed is the Preceptor. Daughter, do not speak so wickedly. You do not yet know the Preceptor properly. The universal buffoon may be old and the teacher of every scoundrel. Yet like the sun he can spread the light of love and make the lotus bloom. Ah, what a wonder. The white hair upon drooping Volva's head and her pale eyebrows bloom fully like Cauchy flowers. Age has weakened the body that once was love's dwelling. And her breasts have withered and sagged. Yet even after all these changes, the sound of her voice still awakens desire. If desire survives all this, where could it ever disappear? Drooping Volva, do you seem to be trembling a little from old age? It is true. the gallants who were once devoted to me, and recalling their virtues. I am now suffering from the fever of love. Your Majesty, drooping vulva has caught love fever. Then why do you not summon the great physician Vyadasvindu? Ocean of disease. Son of Atchurantaka. Death of patience. Do you not know the son of death of patience? Have you heard nothing of his virtues? Are you unaware of the courteous treatment notion of disease gives his patients? If there is stabbing pain in the stomach? Apply a red hot rod to the eyes? If the feet are swollen? Bore holes through the palms if there is a stone in the bladder? Operate inside the nose with a sharp knife? For gout and disorders of wind? Make the patient drink boiling oil? heart disease, place the patient's testicles between two rods and crush them hard. After receiving such delightful treatment, what patient would not proceed toward the cremation ground? And furthermore, make a coughing patient inhale the smoke of burning chaff. If too much wind fills the belly, force him to labor. Give him a purgative and make him fast if digestion is weak. Feed him minced meat with his meal. If he suffers from asthma, make him drink water without pause. If he has a disorder of bile, feed him dried ginger, picar leaves and pepper broth. If a bodily humour causes fever, bathe him in a tub. How can one adequately praise the virtues of Ocean of Disease? The Great Physician. It is impossible for a single mouth to recite the full catalogue of his merits. A voice from behind the garden. The Royal Physician who kills every patient, Ocean of Disease, is coming onto the stage. The flesh of his legs is badly rotten and covered with round boils. and again he uses the hem of his garment to dry flies from his oozing sores. The violence of his cough resounds on every side. Even through the heavens. Enter ocean of disease. He circles slowly and speaks with immense pride. As a physician, I contain every disease in perfect form. My ill-fame in disgrace are my glory. Once I have treated him, even the immortal Markundey cannot remain alive for long. And furthermore, a patient needs neither medicine nor treatment. One glimpse of me is enough to kill him. Great Preceptor, I salute you. Sprout of Quarrel, bless the royal physician. May you live forever with your enemies. May May your life be short. May you not survive even two more auspicious moments. May a sharp thorn lodge in your heart. May a serpent bite your neck. And for crimes committed by others may the king punish you by beheading. May you always worry about food. And may your house burn forever. Wicked boy, are you mocking me? Ocean of disease, is your dead father, death of patience, keeping well? How could he be well without seeing you? Who in this entire world could see her breasts? Like golden jars, without a heart overflowing with desire? Great physician, I wish to consult you on a medical matter. Is a physician to be consulted only after the family has gathered rice and sesame for the funeral? offering, selected a fine axe for preparing the pyre. And every relative has abandoned all attachment to the patient. You are a great physician indeed. Great physician, drooping vulva is suffering from phlegm after excessive indulgence in love. You must prescribe her treatment. Why was the preparation of scalding oil not poured into her anus at once? Do not delay the procedure any longer. This physician has no sense at all. My lord, by great good fortune I have found the finest physician. Ah, one must attend to a thousand things. I have forgotten the question. Sun sprout of coral, remind me what we ask the physician. Great physician. New moon streak has developed an itch from applying too much vermilion and musk. Please tell us what should be done to cure this ailment. The disciple is just like his guru. A dog belongs on an ash heap, makes an ointment of water hyacinth with finely powdered scorpions and thorns, and smear it over new moon streaks entire body. The itch will disappear at once. An excellent medicine. Yes. Now I remember. Great Physician. Drooping Volva has developed a headache from the pleasures of love battle. What should be done for that? Great Physician. I have long known of your learning. Please prescribe a medicine for my phlegm. He. He. Why did you not say that you had phlegm? Long ago. A certain ruling king developed flame because of an excess disorder of wind. At that time my father, a Turantika, death of patients, who was authoritative in the Ayurvedic works of Charaka, Sushruta, Vagbhata, and Nagarjuna, cured the king's flame by cleansing his eyes with black salt and fastening a hundred leeches upon them. What is the treatment for my illness? If a minor remedy will do, wipe or scribe a major one. Your phlegm will be destroyed if you please wasps, leeches and scorpions inside your nose and eyes. You truly are the son of death of patience. A commotion is heard behind the curtain. Gatekeeper, find out at once who has come to see me. Bring the visitor here quickly. As my lord commands, Great King, Raktakalola, wave of blood, a barber, is dragging in a bleeding citizen by his clothes. Tell him to enter and present himself. King, I present before you this barber named Riktakalola. Enter wave of blood, gripping the clothes of a bleeding citizen. He circles the stage and speaks in Sanskrit. The moment I take razor in hand and prepare to scrape. A man abandons every hope of life. Whenever I set to work as a barber. My heart grows eager to see streams of blood flowing from the human body. And furthermore, when a man's hands, feet, and neck have been bound and he screams in dreadful pain, the moment I begin to cut his nails he gives up every hope even of being born again. Looking around the assembly, he offers a mirror. Drooping Volva. You should take the mirror first. Great King! I have contracted the eye disease called cataract. I cannot see the reflection of my face in the mirror at all. Let your majesty take it first. Ocean of disease. Even in your presence this procurous drooping volva has developed the eye disease called cataract. Why not hold an iron rod heated in the fire firmly and steadily? And press it against the pupil? When no eye remains, how can the disease called cataract survive? Should not the physician first test the remedy by applying the red hot rod to his own eyes? This cortisan mocks me. There is no point remaining here. Oh, old age has come upon me. My hair has turned white. My teeth are rotting and falling out. My body has grown old and weak. Cataracts cloud my eyes. My ears can no longer hear a sound. And the flesh of my body hangs loose. All this is the work of age. Yet even in this condition my restless heart is forever eager to embrace a fair courtesan. The sport of God seems very strange to me. Barba, if you have something to say about this matter, say it now. Great King, I have a dispute with this man who is writhing in pain. Minister, consider how justice should be given between these two men. Barba, tell me, who first saw this blood? I saw it first. What do you mean, you first saw the blood flowing from my body? Baba, how did you come to see it first? This admirable minister is as distinguished as the king. Great king, I was holding this man's finger in order to cut his nail. At that very moment he covered his eye with the finger. My instrument therefore entered his eye and broke. That is why he began to bleed. He has spoken correctly. Citizen, you must pay the Baba the price of His broken nail cutting instrument. The minister is every bit as distinguished as the king. Great King, Ibrahman named Mityarnava, Ocean of Falsehood, wishes to see you. Let him come in. Enter. Enter ocean of falsehood. Great Preceptor. A relative by marriage is staying with me. A Brahmin has died in his house. This Brahmin had studied all four Vedas, observed the rules of celibacy with exceptional strictness, bathed once a year, and suffered many wounds from the kick of a fly's foot. Grieved by the Brahmin's death, I went in search of a learned authority on scripture and found you in a procurus's house. Please tell me what penance we should perform to atone for this sin. If the Brahmin is truly dead, his wife or son should drink extremely hot water mixed with cow dung. In that way they too will attain the road to heaven. He did not die from the kick of a fly's foot. The townspeople beat him to death for committing adultery with a washerwoman. Then everyone has been freed from the stain of sin. Purify the washerwoman, who is tainted with the sin of killing a Brahmin. By ritual, and bring her home again. Your learning is admirable. Looking at new moon streak. Who is the man who went to the bank of the Ganges and worshiped Lord Shiva with lotus flowers? who is the man who worshipped with total devotion the love God, enemy of the demon Shambhara, and who is the man who knowingly and selflessly gives up his life where the Ganges meets the sea. In the same way I ask, who is the fortunate man whose lap will be adorned, even for a few moments, by new moon streak. In Shantris of the world, I came here to embrace a courtesan, but many wicked men have already gathered. When leeches cling to the bodies of other leeches, there is no point remaining here. Why has the magistrate Saduhim Saka, tormenter of the virtuous, not yet arrived? Enter, tormenter of the virtuous, in a cheerful mood. An armed thief has thrown the whole city into turmoil. That is why I have come in the greatest delight to visit a courtesan. Minister, this thief has spread terrible fear. What is to be done? Great King! First the army must be properly equipped, then I must be protected. After that the Queen and finally the Royal Palace. Speaking in distress. From inside the palace one may catch a glimpse of the moon. When I am with the queen, I lie awake all night for fear that the crumbling walls will fall. A snake must always keep its poison ready. For the frog croaks throughout the night and lives in fear that the snake will seize it. Therefore, the palace must be protected from the thief before anything else. Ah! I wish to know how the queen is now. Supreme Minister, tell me something more about the queen. For whose sake the king appears so sorrowful and anxious? Would a man not need a thousand mouths, like the serpent Adeshecha, to describe the queen's virtues. Even so, tell me something. I long to hear of her qualities. Since you insist, I shall describe them briefly. The queen's face is dark as a moonless night. She is fair as lamp-black. Her beautiful eyes resemble cats. Her waist is like an enormous water jar, and her high breasts hang below her navel. These virtues make the queen the enchantress of the entire world. Friend, the king is foremost among learned men, but you are the crown jewel of all poets. Great King! If fear of the thief has spread so widely, why not summon the commander Rana Jambuka, the Jackal of War? Enter Jackal of War. He circles the stage and speaks proudly. Great King, hear the account of my heroic exploit. Tell us! Great King, today I saw a bee drinking nectar from a red flower. And then? Once I put on my armor, took up my weapons, and with four soldiers bound the bee in a thick leather rope and dragged it toward me. And then? Then with my sharp sword I split the bee open like a hollow leather pouch. No doubt remains about your valour. You possess the strength of ten thousand elephants. Commander, the hour has come to fight wicked men. How eager are you for battle? intercourse, if I mistake the red lac on my wife's feet for blood. I faint and fall, even when the whole earth is covered by the darkness of the new moon night. I lose consciousness. Tell me, then, what will become of me if I see soldiers drenched in blood upon the battlefield? She laughs loudly. Oh, wicked courtesan, you mock me, why do you not fight me this instant? King and astrologer named Mahayatrika, prophet of the final journey, is at the door. Let him enter. The gatekeeper speaks and exits. Entering, opening his almanac, turning southward, and reading. May the sun occupy your birth sign and destroy your position. May Jupiter remain in your horoscope and increase your fears. may sat and dwell in the 8th house and multiply your pain and disease. May Mars also occupy the 8th house. Kill your entire family. And strike you with weapons. Then may mighty Rahu. Together with the sun in your 12th house. Destroy your wealth. Would these powerful planets so placed? Even the otherwise favourable influence of the moon, Venus, and Mercury will scarcely bear fruit. You have heard the blessing. At this moment the Great King wishes to go to war. Calculate an auspicious hour for his great journey. The great king's great journey will take place at dawn on a Saturday, on the full moon day of the month of Shrivana, under the sign of Scorpio. Then he will certainly die. He will carry away with him the demon of his subjects misfortune. Looking east and west, the orb of the sun is sinking. While the orb of the moon swells as it rises, the reddened eyes of the angry love god imitate the two glowing orbs. Because the people have been kept apart from their wives. Looking lovingly at new moon street. Sprout of quarrel, my son, evening has come, go to new moon streak and whisper in her ear that I wish to spend the evening with her in private. Meditation This guru of mine is thoroughly wicked. He wants to make love with the girl. And furthermore, every day I have diligently served my revered guru, and what have I gained? Every day I have worshipped the sun, and what benefit has it brought? I have studied the Vedas with severe discipline, and what profit is there in that? Even if I attain heaven, what use will it be? All of it is fruitless unless I can passionately embrace new moon streaks high. Pitcher-like breasts and quench the fire of love with sweat. There is no point delaying. Why should I not clasp her tightly and kiss her face? New moon streak. I have something to tell you. Say it. If it is proper. In Sunscrew. Youth is fleeting. It lasts only 10 or 15 days. High. firm breasts droop and hang with age and can never rise again. Moon faced new moon streak. Life offers no certainty. No one knows how long it will last knowing all this. When a young woman rejects a youth who longs for love, her firm breasts pierce his heart like thorns. She smiles faintly. New moon streak. I must tell you a secret. Please listen. Even the gods cannot have drunk the nectar of New Moonstreak's lips. No wonder. Then, that the gods were joyfully content with the moon-like nectar that fell from Rahu's mouth. Wicked boy! You must perform penance for embracing and kissing New Moonstreak. Whom I desired from the beginning. You must perform the penance. Because you desire a woman whom your disciple has already embraced. That limb of yours whose name is also used for an elephant's trunk, your hand, must be cut off, because you touched the young woman desired by your guru. Since you call new moon streak, already kissed by your disciple, the woman you desire, the limb with which you would adorn a beautiful woman's waist deserves to be cut off. Those teeth of yours, hidden behind your lips, must be torn out, because you wounded new moon streak's lips with them. or linger. The word formed by placing a vowel before the root, liji, deserves to be torn out. Because with that organ you would torment the young woman whom your disciple has already kissed. Thus the two dance in quarrel while everyone present laughs. A bard speaks from behind the curtain. The eyes of a bold and experienced woman, tightly embraced, dart with anticipation of the supreme delight of lovemaking. The troubled eyes of an innocent, inexperienced woman reveal her fear of defeat in love's battle. A woman whose husband has gone on a journey watches the fierce sun sink behind the mountain with tearful eyes and loneliness in her heart. These women share no blood. Yet all gaze upon the setting sun in pain. And furthermore, as the sun god sets in the west, the moon's rays now scorch the lotuses and make them wither. With night approaching, great black bees abandon the flowers. While the setting sun deprives them of light, they are like women tormented by the thought of husbands departing on journeys. A second bod sings Where has the sun's orb gone? Visible only a moment ago Where have the calls of the Chakravaka birds gone? Audible only a moment ago Where have the male and female swans gone? Who only a moment ago cast off shame and joined in love play? The moon has risen Reddened by the rays of the setting sun Like the angry face of a woman who has discovered that her husband is attached to another. Hearing the bees sing, clusters of lotuses awaken and seem to laugh as they display their joy. And furthermore, at the sight of the rising moon's disk, the heart wonders, is this truly a beautiful bowl from which the dwellers in heaven drink nectar? Is it a ball with which ratty? Wife of the love god? Plays? Or is it a heap of foam from the Ganges? Is it King Love's Parasol? Or is it the vast treasury of fame? Evening has come. Why do you not go and complete your daily observances? What good will come from completing them? I am worried by the trouble caused by the thief. Still, I shall go. But wait a moment. Look at the hostility between the preceptor and his disciple. He takes up his staff and runs forward angrily. He shrieks and shakes his whole body. The two sees new moon S.T.R.E.A.K.'s clothing. Dancing was their struggle in shouting. She is mine. She is mine. Single quote. My lord, preceptor, Please end this quarrel for today. Night has fallen. Tomorrow morning a preceptor named Madananda Mishra, Mishra blinded by lust, will come to instruct New Moon Streak. Both of you must obey whatever decision he gives. So be it. All exit. exit. Thus ends Act One of the Fast the Ocean of Laughter. By the judgment of the assembly in the council. The following morning, enter the universal buffoon in Sprout of Queral. Ah, in the east the sun's rays appear red as vermillion in the parting of a woman's hair. After a husband has spent the entire night in love play with his mistress. He He stands before his wife at sunrise and she glares at him with blood red. Furious eyes. Just so, the red lotuses of the pond look redder still in the crimson morning light. Because the sun spent the whole night in some other region of the earth. And furthermore, the morning breeze gives the heart great joy, for it carries the pleasing fragrance of day-blooming lotuses. It also bears the sweet scent of musk and vermilion. Washed into streaks of red and black by the sweat of women exhausted from love play. Where are drooping vulva and new moon streak? Enter drooping vulva and new moon streak. Looking at new moon streak. If new moon streak, whose face is like the autumn moon? Casts one restless glance at me. Who will notice the blue lotus adorning her ear? And furthermore, even Lord Shiva would find it difficult to resist new moon streaks' sleepy eyes and their darting. Side long glances. Drooping vulva, has Madananda Mishra, Mishra blinded by lust, still not arrived. A voice from behind the curtain. His sacred thread has been readened by the fragrant cosmetics of courtesans. His eyes have grown red from drinking cannabis liquor. His whole forehead is smeared with sandal paste. And he has completely abandoned every act of worship and religious observance. The embodied form of such virtues is approaching in person. Madananda Mishra, blinded by lust, is seen entering with his disciple Kulala, the wild pork. Look! Hearing bees hum around the mango trees and the sweet sounds of cranes and cuckoos. This spring resounds with the hot size of beautiful women separated from their lovers. And furthermore, touched by cool droplets splashed from the hands of women playing in the waters of the Cauvery. Filled with the fragrance of pale sandalwood and awakening the excitement of love, the southern wind gently stirs clusters of new mango shoots. At the touch of fully opened wine flowers, it seems a little frightened. as though it had come into contact with a menstruating woman. How shall I pass this spring without a quarter-zan? Wild cock, my son, look, it is already noon. The sun god heats the earth with his rays. All the birds have taken shelter in wine-covered boughs. Swans have settled motionless beneath radiant, fully-opened lotuses, weary, sorrowing travelers, hearts burning with the fierce pain of long separation from their wives. Sit beneath the shade of leafless trees. Sighing without pause as they write, Good sir. A procurus named Drooping Vulva lives in this city. It is said that she receives guests exceptionally well. We should dine at her house. Is she of high birth? What doubt can there be? Even a man of the lowest caste drinks water in her house. Then come, son. The two turn toward drooping VULV's house. Before they can enter. Blinded by lust, please sit upon this beautiful seat. Is it not astonishing that New Moon Streak, jewel among women, stands before me? Between folds of red clothing, New Moon Streak's breast gleams in the curve of a rising half-moon. Like a bright fragment of moon emerging over the eastern mountain, she arches her brows and casts a lustful, restless glance, creating the illusion of a bee tugging at the petal of a great ketaki flower. What man could see such a sight without agitation, without being compelled to look at her? And furthermore, new moon-streaks body is a splendid forest, her high-breasts rise like inaccessible mountains. The region of her navel lies deep below. Her trembling, quivering arms possess the beauty of a swarm of lovely bees. Seeing all these signs, the heart grows a little afraid that the love-god himself has become a hunter and is striking with the sharp arrows of her restless glances. My dear like heart, tell me, where will you find refuge? How can I deceive sprout of queral in the universal buffoon? Very well, I shall pretend to be a follower of the Vavishnava sect and trick them. Tum, you must forever repeat the name of Vishnu. Eyes, the Lord pervades the entire universe, you must see in that manner. Ears, you must forever hear the glory of God. heart, you must hold with absolute firmness that Lord Narayana alone is the refuge of all. Ah, by uttering God's name I have committed a mortal sin. What must I do to atone for it? Blinded by lust is a rogue, trying to deceive us in the name of the Vaishnava sect. Very well, I shall show him something in return. I forever meditate in my heart upon Lord Krishna crown jewel of the three worlds whose form is like blue sapphire who like a bee forever hovers about the lotus face of the goddess Lakshmi whose dark color is like the smoke that draws tears from the eyes of demons wives wild cock my son now expound the doctrine of the Vavishnava sect As my master commands. In the age of Kali, human life is naturally short. On top of that, wicked men force others to fast and practice various bodily austerities. Thereby destroying the body. The wise understand the futility of physical torment and prefer religion and mode of worship that includes a life of sensual enjoyment and the pleasures found at a courtesan's door. Sprout of quarrel, my son, expound the vichy of a doctrine. If for fear of the contempt of fools, a man observes a fast despite terrible suffering and endures inward agony from fear of the death, that may come in the night. Nevertheless, in order to remain alive, He must first rise and eat in the morning. Thus the true danger is that life itself may end through remaining hungry and fasting. If death is the result, how can complete liberation be attained? And furthermore, the face of any priest who declares that painful fasting earns merit should be smeared with ashes. Supreme liberation is possible only when the incomparable Lord Shiva is pleased by offerings of meat. fish and women. This preceptor is extremely clever. He cannot be deceived. It is useless to bait an old cat with sour rice. Very well. I shall trick him by displaying humility. Master, I salute you. Friend, may you live long, but when a woman such as Drooping Volva, who has served multitudes, is present, it is not proper for a man like you to salute me first. Oh, I must took you for drooping valvour and saluted you. He truly is blinded by lust that is why he mistook a man for drooping valvour, the Procuraus. Drooping valvour, I offer you my respectful salutation. Daughter, raise him up and pronounce a blessing upon him. May Gowri, the consort and other half of Lord Shiva, be gracious to you. Having said this, New Moon Streak lowers her eyes in embarrassment. Ah! The sight of New Moon Streak leaves me astonished. The two feet of doe-eyed New Moon Streak can barely support the weight of her immense hips. How can her incomparable waist bear the weight of her two high breasts? Which resemble the temples of an elephant? Excellent Brahmin! I inform you that today a fire sacrifice to the love God is being held in my house. Please act as priest and bring it to completion. The hollow between doe-eyed new moon-streaks thighs will serve as the sacrificial altar. Her wall were between those thighs. The place desired by men of pleasure will be the fire pit. Her breasts will serve as the sacrificial fruit. The fiercely burning fire of desire will be the ritual flame. I shall be the priest. And my seamen the offering poured into the sacrifice. While my penance will be the sacrificial ladle. The SPHYA. With all these materials ready to grant immediate satisfaction. What man would refuse to perform such an erotic Vignihotra? Drooping vulva. Old age has weakened your body. you unable to carry out your duty. You should therefore appoint your daughter to gather the materials for the sacrifice. Daughter, follow the venerable Brahmin's wishes. New moon streak goes inside the house. First settle the quarrel between my guru and me. Son, wait a little, until the sacrifice has been completed. Blinded by lust enters the house, has vigorous intercourse with new moon streak, and speaks in delight. Her breasts are crushed by the embrace. Her face is wet with sweat from excessive exertion, closing her eyes after a kiss. She utters sounds of pleasure. Her brows are lovely and her side long glances restless. The delight of such a courtazan, praised through the smooth speech of deceivers, can be enjoyed only by a man who has accumulated every kind of merit for a hundred years. Looking at new moon S.T.R.E.K., aside, The coal has been washed from new moon streaks to beautiful ice, and the redness from her lips, the knot of hair upon her head has loosened, and the sandal paste has been white from her body by the sweat of love play. Her thighs no longer tremble, her hands have gone slack, and her chest heaves again and again. From all these signs it is certain that she is coming this way after intercourse." Good sirs, one man has completed the sacrifice. Closing his left eye, he gestures for the disciple to stop. What will you gain by stopping me? One man's accumulated merit cannot purify another, can it? Son, wait a moment. Great-blinded by lust, I now understand how your sacrifice was completed. Even so, you must judge the dispute between the two of us. Arrange matters so that I may marry New Moonstreak. The two of us shall marry her. What harm is there in that? Consider, in this world Kunti, daughter of King Boja, and Madri were married to six lords, Dharma, Vayu, Indra, the two Ashvan twins, and Pandu, yet they were still called faithful wives. Draupadi, too, was wife to all five Pandavas. Yudhishthira, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula, and Sahadeva, it is therefore clear that a woman commits no sin by marrying several men. These two wicked men have joined forces. I should now make an alliance with Sprout of Quarrel. Friend. Look. These two men have become allies and will both marry New Moonstreak. Why should the two of us not marry drooping vulva? Friend. I do not think you have spoken wisely. We have no experience of intercourse with an old woman. Besides, it is painful that these two old men will marry New Moonstreak in Shantris of the Three Worlds. A Jasmine garland does not grace a monkey's wrist. An ignorant rustic knows nothing of Musk.
