CRITICAL-APPRECIATION CHAPTER · G13
Special Issues in Maithili Magazines (Special Reference—Person Centric Special Issues)
Shivshankar Srinivas
Detailed description
Srinivas surveys author-centered magazine issues and argues that evaluation during a writer’s lifetime can encourage further work. He distinguishes their potential critical independence from celebratory volumes and explicitly limits the survey to his knowledge. An appended editorial explanation describes Videha’s selection process and the Nit Naval series, acknowledging that limited resources can leave deserving writers unselected. The survey and the editor’s institutional explanation are separate voices.
This is a signed contribution in the volume’s Gajendra Thakur, Videha and the wider literary-digital project strand. The page preserves the contributor’s attribution, the normalized chapter identity, the English-edition locator, and the paired Maithili/English repository manifestations so that the critical argument can be read in its book context rather than as an isolated quotation.
Source note. The editor says he changed the original title “Patrika Visheshank”. The contents use “Theme-Based”; the heading specifies person-centric issues. Editorial material begins on p. 299.
