Thakur surveys digital publishing, Wikipedia, dictionaries, manuscript access and multiple scripts, then argues that textual resources alone cannot secure Maithili’s future. He proposes podcasts, oral histories, video essays and subtitled scholarly conversations. The appended editorial response welcomes the challenge but points to existing audiovisual work, limited unpaid resources and the need for independent teams to share responsibility.
