CRITICAL-APPRECIATION CHAPTER · G02

Maithili in the Digital Age: Videha and Gajendra Thakur

Vikas Vatsnabh

Detailed description

Vatsnabh connects language survival online with usable scripts, Unicode, technical vocabulary and substantial searchable content. He treats Videha as a journal, library and resource aggregator, and discusses dictionaries and Panji publication as collaborative work. The closing argument looks toward AI: sustained digital availability, rather than symbolic recognition alone, is presented as essential infrastructure for Maithili.

This is a signed contribution in the volume’s Gajendra Thakur, Videha and the wider literary-digital project strand. The page preserves the contributor’s attribution, the normalized chapter identity, the English-edition locator, and the paired Maithili/English repository manifestations so that the critical argument can be read in its book context rather than as an isolated quotation.

Source note. The contents spells the surname ‘Vatsanabh’; the article heading prints ‘Vatsnabh’.
