Prasad supports his account of diversity with an extended survey of writers, publications and quoted examples. Discussions of Jagadish Prasad Mandal, Umesh Paswan, Rajdev Mandal, Bechan Thakur, Munni Kamat and others connect lived rural experience with poetry, fiction, drama and criticism. He sees the parallel literary stream as a change in who can speak and which experiences receive sustained attention.
