PREETI × GAJENDRATHE VIDEHA LITERARY ATLAS

CRITICAL-APPRECIATION CHAPTER · G20

A Letter for Kurukshetram Antarmanak (A Review in Epistolary Style)

Rajdeo Mandal

Detailed description

Writing as an engaged reader rather than claiming professional critical authority, Mandal moves through the collection’s genres. He appreciates the recovery of folk narratives, concise dramatic dialogue, stories of inequality, the novel’s everyday language and the curiosity of children’s poetry. Individual examples make his response more than a general tribute. He also notes difficulty with an epic title while welcoming the opportunity for different readers to find different kinds of writing together.

This is a signed contribution in the volume’s Gajendra Thakur, Videha and the wider literary-digital project strand. The page preserves the contributor’s attribution, the normalized chapter identity, the English-edition locator, and the paired Maithili/English repository manifestations so that the critical argument can be read in its book context rather than as an isolated quotation.

Source note. The source records publication on the Videha-operated Maithili Samalochna blog on 7 April 2012.
